Overview & Reviews
Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

Love it! - 2006 Honda Element
By Deborah Storm - September 25 - 10:35 amThis is a great car for capacity, style and economy. The interior is waterproof so hauling my wet dogs around after going to beach and river outings makes this a perfect car for anyone outdoorsy.

Quirky Refund - 2003 Honda Element
By Sarah Greenwood - September 25 - 2:00 amGreat little teaser, but once you start living with it, it start to annoy and dissapoint. Tried to get a refund because of such poor expectation, but dealer was not one bit cooperative. Was even willing to trade for a CRV, but the trade in value was 20% lower than what I bought, which was needless to say, just above the retail price, plus the "dealer performace" packages. Oh well, I guess you live and learn. Get a CRV, if you like Hondas and SUVs, otherwise, good luck.

great at first glance - 2003 Honda Element
By 2kids - September 25 - 2:00 amI couldnt wait for this car to come out,Anything that quirky looking is a must have. Unfortunatly it doesnt live up to the most versital vehicle claim. 1.In order to open the back door the front must be open. not very convienient for grabbing something from the back seat or loading kids, 2. The back windows dont roll down, 3.The sun roof is over the cargo area, and 4. When the rear seats are folded up they cover the side windows.. not to mention 21 mpg( I had a 1977 honda wagon that got 36 mpg ). On the plus side ,there is tons of leg room and it is every bit Honda quality.

Bulldog Cute - 2003 Honda Element
By sir hectic - September 25 - 2:00 amThe Brand New Honda Elemsnt was the last car of a four car list for looks. Among the competition were Vibes, Liberties, Xterras, and Ravs. None of these cars had the versitility or the ride of the Element. My salesman encouraged me that the looks would grow on me. I waited a month before buying an new Silver Element EX 4WD. What a payoff! The 4WD was impressive when I took it in the snow. The interior fit and finish were heavey duty and industrial. IF you are even remotely thinking about this car, go for it! The worst thing that will happen is that people will stare.

Element: SUV for Any Lifestyle - 2007 Honda Element
By KovacAttittude - September 23 - 12:16 pmHonda reliability and quality is profoundly evident with the Honda Element. The suspension provides agile handling for such a high-profile vehicle. Acceleration is smooth and responsive at virtually any range. Overall driving experience was excellent with agile car-like handling. Every minute behind the wheel of this Element makes you like it more and more. This Element is much more than transportation it is a lifestyle companion that adjusts to any need whether transporting the family for weekend activities or carrying large objects for weekend home projects.

First Non Jeep/Dodge - 2007 Honda Element
By Michael - September 22 - 2:50 pmFinally recieved it last night after a month wait. Driven about 80 miles so far and its great. I test drove an 06 LX automatic, but ordered the 07 LX manual because I feel that manuals are more enjoyable, and I liked the added standard features and changes on the 07 model. The element is roomy, and drives well. I like the addition of the standard door lock remote, side curtain airbags, and the fact that the seat belt now retracts into the seat. Have not yet figured out gas mileage, but I know its better than the Dakota I had. The manual shifter is well placed, easily reachable, and shifts well. I am very pleased so far, and would recommend to friends and family.

A work of art - 2006 Honda Element
By MELUVADOG - September 17 - 11:43 amI liked my 2003 Element so much, that my husband wanted it. He got it. Then I got a 2006 lx in Red. I love everything about it except for the stereo system that came with it. It is not nearly as nice as the system I had installed in the 2003. Other than that, I am hooked on the Element. A great surprise for both vehicles is that I get between 28-30 mpg which is a bit higher than what is suggested.

Happy Driving - 2003 Honda Element
By Larry - September 15 - 5:40 pmThis is an excellent multi-functional vehicle. It has rapidaly become our primary vehicle over our truck and sports car. The dogs love it (Mr. 40# & Ms. 80#) Excellent quality and flat out fun. Holds 4 adults with respective golf clubs and room for two more sets of clubs. The 80 plus mothers fit too! Great for easy clean up after camping, beach or other trips. We could go on but dont want to bore you.
