Overview & Reviews
Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

A Very Good Deal - 2007 Honda Element
By David_Wayne - December 29 - 10:20 amVersatility allows me to use the vehicle for work during the week, and when the weekend comes, wipe the floor with a rag, drop the seats down, and I am ready for the kids. The ride is acceptable, and the visibility is excellent. I love this car.

The auto for dog owners - 2003 Honda Element
By Tiber - December 20 - 2:00 amThis vehicle is perfect for dog owners. The back area with tie clips and the flip up seats are just what the doctor ordered for two medium sized dogs and muddy paws are no problem, just wipe it off.

This is a great SUV - 2003 Honda Element
By Samoth - December 20 - 2:00 amYou got to get one of these, what I like the most about it is the all the seats (4) fold down and fit together (converting in to a bed), the rear seat once let down can be unlatched and swing to either side, then you have basicly turn it in to a cargo bay, this can be done with easy, or if you cargo is wide, you can simple take out either one of both the seats! Im excited, I cant wait for summer to take the moon roof out, dont to metion the 7 speaker system, with woofer. Im really excited1111

First Element- Wont be the last! - 2007 Honda Element
By familyof4 - December 19 - 10:57 pmI had my first Honda Civic for 14 yrs then replaced it with another Civic several years ago. With two kids, we wanted something safer. Given the heavier weight, side curtain air bags and great crash test results, we bought the Element SC and absolutely love it. Its a lot fun to drive, handles very well, sounds solid when you close the doors, ride is quiet, looks great, safer than the previous Civic and is very functional. It has more room from the passenger seats forward than our Mazda MPV. Another very satisfied Honda customer. When will US car makers get on the ball?

very cool - 2005 Honda Element
By elemental-00 - December 18 - 10:30 pmIts just me and my son. We are always putting a seatup and stuffing large items in the back. We just came back from the beach and it was not a problem, just hosed the car out. I can even leave the sun roof open during a rain and hardly get any water on the inside. We relly like our element!

MPG Misrepresented - 2005 Honda Element
By ronimac - December 16 - 8:00 pmI am very disappointed in the gas mileage. I drive an equal mix of city/ highway miles and I average approx 200 miles per tankful. I fell that Honda has misrepresented the stated MPG listed on the vehicle. I have over 25 years of driving experience and I know that the poor gas mileage is not due to my driving habits. According to Consumer Report Oct. 05, one writer stated that he gets 14 MPG with his Element. Ive driven Hondas since 92 and have seen the quality decline. I regret not purchasing a Rav4.

The Most Overlooked SUV - 2006 Honda Element
By Scottso - December 14 - 8:54 pmI went from a 4 dr Toyota Tacoma 4x4 to the Element. Gas and space was the factor. The Element hit both of those areas as well reliable. I now have 2600 miles on my Kiwi Green Element. I love everything about it. The drive is smooth than my old truck. I dont have to shift into 4wd. The fuel savings is big compared to the truck. Inside the vehicle tons of room and storage pockets. The kids love the room and sunroof.

Pretty?Ugly! - 2003 Honda Element
By XRanger - December 14 - 10:00 amAfter reading a number of hate mail reviews of the Element, I traded in my 99 Range Rover got a new Element and a check from the dealer. Most Range Rover people would not compare the two vehicles, I did, the Element is more fun to drive, cheaper to own and operate, provides more road feel and more cargo space. More people smile at me now, they glare at Range Rovers. They all want to know how much and where I got "it". The car performs extremely well, is quiet, feels secure and responive, has plenty of power and climbs hills as well as the Range. (Sorry to disbelieving RR fans)..all I miss is the heated seats and about 2 less fillups a wee
