Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

  • I love my 2007 Element SC!! - 2007 Honda Element

I bought my 2007 Honda Element SC in 06/07. I traded in a 06 Silverado Crew Cab. My element is so much easier to drive and to park. I get double the gas mileage also. I still have plenty of room for passengers and luggage. For the past several years Ive traded in my car every 1-2 years but not this one. I absolutely LOVE it. Thank you Honda for a great vehicle! Its awesome to drive too.

  • Virtually Perfection - 2003 Honda Element

The manual transmission makes driving around town as much or more fun as in my 2-seater 320 HP beast. The 5 speed makes the E peppy and responsive, and in close traffic you cant go fast anyway! It really surprised me as a spunky and responsive little car which is fun to drive - as well as perfect for loading and unloading for shows (trade shows and art shows). The diminutive size makes it perfect for getting in and out for loading and unloading at shows. A 10 on all counts!

  • Value, Functionality, Fun - 2006 Honda Element

The Element is the perfect combo of function, value, and fun. Roomy inside, functional design, fun to drive, 4WD with 25mpg hwy! Perfect for commuting, or roadtrips. Peppy in town, handles the open road, dirt, mountain roads, or snow with style. It looks cool and stands out. Imagine a Jeep crossed with a Mini Cooper. Function with style. I have camped in it. Love the cool folding/removable seats. Carries all my camping and climbing gear. Easy to clean when you get back. You could spend more but you will be hard pressed to get more. Also has a great fan/owners club.

  • I liked the Element when I first saw it! - 2007 Honda Element

The new 2007 Honda Element is a pleasure to drive. Its peppy, runs smoothly, and has tons of room. I knew I liked the Element when I first saw it a few years ago. It was "boxy" looking but different than all the other SUVs. And the colors, esp. that unusual orange, were unique. I see people looking at it and in it sometimes. To me all the other SUVs look so much alike. The Element, though its not so new anymore, has such a striking appearance that it maintains its uniqueness. Even your passengers have a unique ride because theyre sitting high up with a great view of the road. The skylight window in the back is fun to use esp. if youre carrying dogs.

It is a great riding suv. Does have a little road noise but not so bad.

  • Honda Element, first month - 2003 Honda Element

I just purchased a 2003 Honda Element approximately one month ago. So far it is one of the most fun cars to drive that I have ever driven. It is very practical, since my wife shows dogs. The interior is very conducive to hauling dogs and crates.

  • Versatile and comfortable hauler - 2003 Honda Element

Honda has a winner in the Element. Its storable backseats are simple to flip-up allowing easy access to a very large cargo area which has a reasonably low lift height. This cargo area has hauled full-size sheets of sheetrock, 22 spruce trees, a new desk with three matching file cabinets - this on top of its twice weekly duty hauling real estate signs. I chose the Element for its capacity to haul large yard-arm style real estate signs. The Element was the only auto I test drove that could handle multiple signs easily. As an added bonus its AWD will help tremendously this winter, and its easy to clean interior is a pleasure to clean, too.

  • The new Turtle in the Family - 2003 Honda Element

We call our New Element the Turtle. We purchased the Green Element and just love the Little guy. We are headed back home to Hawaii and think it will make the perfect auto (truck) for us there. We haul more with it and use it for more things than our Ford Ranger. The features are all Honda told us they would be. We owned Honda Gold Wings for many years and look forward to many years of service from our Element.
