Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

As a large person I have found the selection of comfortable vehicles in any catagory lacking. I already own a Chrysler Town & Country and wanted to replace a 2000 Dodge Stratus. I was pleasently surprised at the physical comfort available in this car. I can get in and out without having to duck down or hit my head. All controls are in the right place and easy to work. Handeling is quick and steering is responsive and the ride quality is excellent for a car of this size. I have had the car for a little over a month and have put on 1,500 miles so I cant really comment on reliability. Fit and finish is better that any of the cars that I have owner in the last 40 years.

I BOUGHT THE VEHICAL OUT OF PURE CURIOSITY. AFTER OWNING IT FOR A MONTH OR SO, I DECIDED TO BUY A PERSONAL WATERCRAFT. NOT KNOWING IF THE ELEMENT COULD TOW IT OR NOT I FIGURED I WOULD GIVE IT A TRY. AFTER MY FIRST LAKE TRIP I WAS CONVINCED I HAD PURCHASED ONE OF THE COOLEST DAMN THINGS EVER. IT TOWS GREAT! THEN I GOT TO CAMP IN IT AND REALLY ENJOYED STAYING INSIDE RATHER THAN OUT! ITS LIKE A MINI-MOBLE HOME! THE BEST PART WAS, I HAD TO PULL OUT A 04 DODGE RAM THAT WAS STUCK. FUNNY B/C I JUST TRADED THAT TRUCK OFF FOR MY "E". AMEN FOR AWD!

COMPARED TO OTHER VEHICLES IN ITS CLASS THE EXTERIOR DESIGN AND MAKER MADE ME CHOOSE THE HONDA ELEMENT.THIS IS THE FOURTH HONDA IV OWNED,THE PREVIOUS THREE WERE GREAT CARS AND THE ELEMENT IS NO EXCEPTION.I LOVE THE VERSITILITY OF THE INTERIOR AND THE SMOOTH PICKUP OF THE ENGINE.THE DENT RESISTANT BUMPERS ALSO COMES IN HANDY.

Love the Element. Best car I have ever owned. Bought it because it was so roomy and dog friendly. Dog hair just blow out the interior. Muddy feet just get a hose.

  • A pretty cool box - 2007 Honda Element

Traded in 07 Nissan Frontier CC with 39,000 miles. Needed more space for kids. Element fits the bill. Rear seats with surprising amount of space, front seats ok. Cargo capacity just right. Engine performance pretty good, but a bit noisy. A/C nice and cold in So Cal desert. Made a good choice.

This is, for the money, the greatest thing on the road today. Its fun to drive (drives like a Honda). It holds a whole lot of stuff. Its easy to take care of(clean, etc.). I couldnt imagine a more practical vehicle. Yeah people may give you a hard time for driving one, but thats all part of the fun in being an owner of an Element.

This is far and away the best car Ive ever owned. With a roof rack and a little imagination this can be your modular assault vehicle. Plenty of room for bikes, snowboards, skis, even pulls a trailer great. Just got back from a 3 week 4200 mile road trip, through the mountains, snow, rain, baking deserts the Element took it all and came back for more. Mileage varied depending on terrain but it kicked butt the whole way. Id buy another one in a minute. Adding a K&N airfilter improves power and mileage...a must have.

  • Look of a Jeep, Quality of a Honda - 2007 Honda Element

We purchased this on a whim. We were looking into the CR-Vs but when I got in it It was too small, o we checked out the Element. What a nice ride. The seats are very comfortable and the "theater" style seating is cool. Much better stability than most SUVs. To be honest, seeing these on the road didnt seem appealing to me, but the moment I test drove this car I was hooked. Its a fun car to drive. This is the 4th Honda we have owned (5th if you include the 1990 Acura Integra) and I wouldnt trade any of them for another vehicle. We got the Nighthawk black pearl. So far this is the only vehicle I have owned that I didnt noticed a ton of before and especially after purchasing on the road. Im so satisfied with this vehicle I will probably buy a second one later on down the road But will probably have to pry the Keys to our 2 door Civic from me.

  • Great in place of a minivan - 2005 Honda Element

Great car only drawback is that it seats only four. With kids great with the plastic floor and the waterproof seats. I would recommend

  • Im a fan for life - 2005 Honda Element

The Element is a dream for tall people! Ive more head room than any other vehicle Ive every been in. Safety wise I give it outstanding marks. I was rear ended by a Chevy Tahoe doing 90mph+, I was driving 50 mph, and walked away without a scratch or bump. Also a dream for someone with shedding dogs. The Element cleans very easily.
