Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

Very fun vehicle to drive and I love the open interior space. Plenty of room for tall people. Great cargo hauling capacity and easy clean interior. Great sound system - 270 watt stereo. Ride in back seats can be bumpy, but nice moonroof for the rear people. 2007 model has 5 speed automatic and can get slight better highway mileage than this 4 speed automatic, but still decent mileage.

This is my dogmobile, where it is OK to have sand all over the floors and yet is easy to clean out. Several things could be better: 1) the window visor is too small in the LX, it does not protect from the sun. They provide expanding visors in the EX, but not in the LX, weird! It is about a foot long, and should be at least 2 feet. 2) there is a blind spot on the left windscreen panel. 3) a large clunking sound when breaking or changing gears, Honda told me this is normal.

Bought new SC in Nov.07, now have 36,000 km in 5 mos. No problems. Power/handling fine. Gas consumption fair as to be expected, but much better than previous Titan. Interior space and utility of overall vehicle unmatched by anything else out there.

Fun and versatile - Mileage 25 trip, 20 around town - Plenty of room for my 64, 285 lb frame :-) Looks like a toaster but is fun to drive.

I bought this car initially b/c of its roominess. I am 64 and I dont think there is any other small SUV with this much room. I would also put it to the test even with the large SUVs. Easy to get in and out of. Gas mileage is better than most SUVs. Easy to keep clean. And, its the perfect car for city driving and parking. Just enough performance on the road to keep up with everyone. I will own this car likely until it dies. 40,000+ miles in two years and no problems whatsoever (except for chipped windshield).

  • Element is Excellent - 2008 Honda Element

I have wanted to buy the Element when it first came out, but I had just bought a new Tacoma. I am glad I waited due to some bugs Honda has had to work out on earlier models. The 08 is very similar overall but the dash gauges are much brighter and more colorful. So far I have had no problems and aver 22 mpg. I find the ride to be very comfortable and the road noise no worse than my wifes Camry. This is just a well thought out vehicle unlike most other small SUVs on the market. The doors open unlike ANY other- I love it, some may not.I find the power of this vehicle to be very good. If youre interested in it you really should go and test drive one!!!

When i first saw the Model X prototype, I couldnt care less if it went into production or not. Only when i started reading magazine reviews about it did i start becoming curious. Well, i went to the dealership; looked at it, test drove it and fell in love. This has been the most interesting car both i have ever owned. Who would have thought this little car gets more stares and comments than a Ferrari! I simply cant go anywhere without being stared at or somebody wanting to look at it. This car does everything right - steering, brakes, acceleration and load carrying. Fantastic investment for $19000.

yes it may look odd, but the functionality blows away all others I considered.

I bought my new Element Ex from Honda of Essex this past winter. Aside from the incredible service and treatment I received by the dealership and its staff I also recieved a great price, just under TMV. I could not be happier with my Element, it got me through all the rough weather this winter, and is tons of fun on dry roads. I would recommend both the Element and Honda Of Essex to anyone looking into a new AWD vehicle.
