Remeber that girl from high school that everybody liked but didnt want to be seen with? Well the car version of her is the Element. Got one of the review in Car and Driver 04 and simply love it. C & D said it was the most useful car they had in their long term fleet and I cant find fault in their opinion. Hauls the family, dog, bikes and assorted gear like an favorite backpack. With the 5 speed the car is much more fun to drive than the auto 4. Steering is percise and the braking good. Fuel economy could be better but lets face it, the thing has the profile of a cinder block.

With a disabled child who races wheelchairs, and being service dog puppyraisers, a tough vehicle is a must, and this is easy to clean and tough to stand up to what we put it through.

This is my first Honda, and I cant say enough about it. I drive to customers homes, and workplaces for my job and cover about 1000 miles per week. Great in the New England snow! Dont think twice about buying one. You wont regret it.

I love my Element! Great standard sound system for a long daily commute. I had read reviews that it drove a little "trucky" but I havent found that to be the case. I love being able to remove the backseats so easily to carry suitcases or artwork. Im tall and the headroom is great and not claustrophobic like so many other vehicles.

  • My favorite car ever, and heres why - 2005 Honda Element

Ive had many cars, and liked many of them a lot. But I honestly love my Honda Element. Its style, function, performance, reliability and FUN are beyond anything Ive ever driven. I have the AWD EX model with side airbags, so Im getting everywhere safely. I love the ability to fold up the rear seats or remove them altogether if Ive got a haul from the garden center or flea market. The Element is so easy to keep sparkling clean. Its light and airy inside, with tons of head room, shoulder room, and space around you. Also great little nooks and cubbies for storage. Road trips are a must with this car. Love the Aux port for my iPod and the subwoofer. I just LOVE this car! Test drive one!

I love this "truck." If I could get another, I would. Whenever I go camping, mountain biking, or even just to drive around, it is an awesome piece of machinery.

Like many, did not like the style until I test drove one. Our family now loves the car we bought since it is as much fun for our 6 year old as it is for us. The stereo is superb along with the handling, quality, etc. The headroom and rear room is great but the driver could use about 1-2" more legroom. A carpeted trough to hold small items in the rear cargo area would be nice. The center console tray could be higher to be able to reach drinks etc. easier and there could be an out-of-sight (covered) area for change, phone, etc. These are minor things. The car is fantastic and a joy to drive. Our first Honda and definitely not our last.

I love this car. It has orignal ideas, great visiabilty, good fuel mileage, and is very easy to get in to and out of. I would have put lights in the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. The price of the add on options like side steps and mud guards and other items is way too high. Also I would make the sun roof in the back a slide back not a lift out so it could be used while driving

  • Best Car for $20,000 - 2005 Honda Element

The Element is fun to drive and has a lot of excellent features for a cheaper car. Its not quite a real SUV but its not quite a car either but it has many of the best and qualities of both. You would be hard pressed to find a car in this price range that has its cargo space, utility, and built in features. Plus it has a lot more character than the CR-V, a Civic, or a Caravan. This wagon is great if youre looking for a versatile vehicle but understand that for this price it wont have everything: as a car it has mediocre gas mileage (but if youre used to driving a bigger SUV - then you will probably love the gas mileage), and a somewhat rough ride.
