This Year's Model Updates:

The 2004 Honda Element lineup gets an LX model to slot between the existing DX and EX models. New equipment on EX models includes keyless entry, a passenger-seat armrest as standard, and bungee-cord fasteners on the driver-side front and rear seat backs.

Pros:
  • Impressively versatile interior, optional all-wheel drive, smooth four-cylinder engine, styled as if out of a Japanese animation movie.
Cons:
  • Only seats four, clamshell doors hinder entry/exit for rear-seat passengers.

the honda element is the most interesting vehicle i have ever purchased. i have taken several long trips in it and enjoy the visability you get while driving it. it seems to keep you alert while driving and i dont seem to get tired like i normally do on long trips. though it was targeted to a younger crowd, i think the element will grow in popularity as time goes by.

I dont fit the marketing target profile for Element owners (63 years old, retired), but this car is the most fun to drive and is the most versatile of any Ive ever owned. Three of my friends have purchased Elements after they saw the incredible flexibility in mine. Ive had the car four months and have had zero, zip problems with it. I enjoy the curious looks I get while driving it, and I actually think the car is attractive.

Except for ease of entry into the backseat area, the car is perfect. But my parents have trouble getting in the back area because the floor is so high. Other than that, no complaints! Great car!

  • LOVE THE ATTENTION!!! - 2004 Honda Element

Now that I am in the Element, I get heads turning all of the time. Being a female, I love the attention!!! Its like a morale booster. Everyone says that it is Huge on the inside. I had been waiting for years to find that SUV that would catch my attention. I liked the Honda CRV and even the Sportage but nothing took my breath away like the Element did. When I first laid my eyes on that vehicle, I chased that man down just to see what was it. It was like love at first sight! Three weeks later I was driving in my new HONDA ELEMENT!!!

I am 32, and seriously active. This car is great for climbing, camping, mt. biking, snowboarding and my dog. The wife always wants to steel my car because its so fun to drive. I look at other people driving their hum-drum cars and feel for them. This is the car Ive been waiting for. The car that isnt a true suv (ie;poor gas mi.), and isnt a butt-ugly minivan. I can take trips to Joshua Tree and sleep in it if the mood strikes.

This is my second Element, I had a 2003 as well. The AWD seems to eat up alot more gas than the FWD. If another Element comesout in 2005, I will buy it as well.

  • Hondas kick ass! - 2004 Honda Element

This is the second honda I have had. I had a 93 civic for 7 years, it was great. This 03 element is even better. Still small, only 11 inches longer than the civic. Great gas milage, & safer to drive now that Im not so low to the ground.

  • Suits to a TEE - 2004 Honda Element

Just want to say that I have never owned a vehicle that I really would like to hang onto forever. I have had other Honda vehicles, but this is my forte. It is very easy to get into and out of, even my handicapped husband can get into the back seat without any problems (I have the running boards). The seats in the back are comfortable and have lots of leg room. I have a car seat for a child, and am glad for the LATCH system. I can do all of my shopping and my friends shopping without worrying that we dont have enough room. It handles great on the road and is very easy to park, especially in tight spots. I am excited.
