The 2004 Honda Element lineup gets an LX model to slot between the existing DX and EX models. New equipment on EX models includes keyless entry, a passenger-seat armrest as standard, and bungee-cord fasteners on the driver-side front and rear seat backs.
- Impressively versatile interior, optional all-wheel drive, smooth four-cylinder engine, styled as if out of a Japanese animation movie.
- Only seats four, clamshell doors hinder entry/exit for rear-seat passengers.

By fangkramer - July 22 - 10:00 amI have not had any problems and I hope it continues that way. The only thing that is not good is the gas milleage. I had an accord before the element and it got 300 miles to a tank of gas and the element only gets 230. I thought the element would get better milleage. The sticker said 22 miles a gallon around town and 24 for the freeway. Well, it gets about 17 miles around town and about 19-20 miles on the freeway. I thought it would be better because the dealer said as long as you dont have 4wd it will get around the same milleage as the accord. other than that its a great car.

Finally bought one! - 2004 Honda Element
By Silver Bullet - July 16 - 11:40 pmIve been looking at Elements since they first hit the lots, and I finally bit and found an almost new 2004 EXS AWD offered by a private seller. So far, so good! You either "get" this vehicle or you dont, and I think I do - folks need to have open minds and accept the Element for what it is, and not wish for Honda to make it into something it isnt meant to be. Need to move people? Get a CR-V, Pilot, or Odyssey. If your list includes intriguing design, transportation for one or two people, the ability to carry lots of stuff "indoors", and reliability and decent fuel economy in a vehicle with a small "footprint" - look no further.

So ugly it was cool ! - 2004 Honda Element
By Gagnon - June 20 - 2:00 amCame time to trade in the 94 Accord and being a young active couple we needed something we could really get some use out of.We test drove the automatic and love it! The usability was great and the layout was fun. The only thing we were a little dissapointed with was the power,but we wanted the manual and they didnt have one to test drive at the time. When we did get to drive it,well we signed the papers.Just wanted to thank Vic and all the people at Manchester Honda in CT. that helped us. Theres nothing like getting in to your vehicle every day and it makes you smile,by the way ours is green and friends and family have already nickname it SHREK !

By Terry in Alaska - June 15 - 10:00 amCombines the best features of a Honda Civic (reliable, economical to buy and own), a minivan (roomy, flexible interior for people or cargo), and a Jeep Wrangler(4 wheel drive, easy care interior). I originally went in to buy a Pilot, but after driving the Element, I changed my mind. I was initially put off by the exterior styling, but it grew on me. Now I like the fact that it doesnt look like everything else on the road.

After test driving each manual transmission vehicles my choice was clear. I had a trailer hitch installed last week,will be hauling two Harley Davidson motorcycles soon behind the Element.

My husband and I have purchased Honda vehicles in the past for our daughters; but this is the first one we have owned for ourselves and we are enjoying it!!

Where Have You Been All My Life - 2004 Honda Element
By stpaul - April 22 - 2:23 pmThis is the vehicle Ive been waiting for. Im 63" and the Element has provided not only necessary leg room but also unexpected head room. As my sister said..."you fit in this car." Since purchasing it, I have driven from Chicago to Butte, MT and back and what has always been a long trip turned out to be a joy to drive. I have also moved to the DC area recently and with the rear seats folded I was able to transfer all those "little things" that you need upon arrival to the new apartment without any hassle. For those with a sense of individuality and a desire for quality, the Element meets both qualifications. P.S. The cat likes it too.
