Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

  • Great vehicle - 2003 Honda Element

Detroit is wrong to create smaller versions of SUVs and place huge MSRPs. Designs out of Detroit are worn and round peg in round hole design. This SUV is great -inside and out - easy to take care of, gas milage is great.. The American companies have to start from the top and lop off these huge MSRPs to cover huge paychecks from senior managment, to the union workers to the car dealers. The glut of the big priced- gas guzzeling SUVs days are numbered with this nice packaged - big cargo space - multi utily SUV vehicle. Buy one and enjoy:)

  • The best FUN vehicle by far - 2003 Honda Element

My wife and I consider wind/kitesurf and ski as FUN. This is the perfect vehicle for us and our dog when we go for FUN road trips. My wife generally hates SUVs, but she loves this vehicle.

  • Gen Y? I guess Im younger than I thought - 2003 Honda Element

The Honda Element is a great car to drive. Fun, stylish, versatile. What really attracted me to the car is the fact that since Im a family man with a project (aka House) I have to be able to move stuff, sometimes dirty or messy stuff and I didnt want to buy a truck. The interior of the Element could literally be washed out with a hose. With the seats out I can carry bags of mulch, furniture. The new 60 Mitsubishi I just bought. Dog crates etc.. etc. Forget Gen Y, this is functional vehicle heaven. I cant believe I almost bought a truck.. ekk..

  • Functionality with flair to spare - 2003 Honda Element

I was looking for a car to haul my camrea gear that had a little more style than a minivan and that was more economical than an SUV. The Element looked like it fit the bill. With the help of an assistant I can load my packed cart right in through the clamshell tailgate. Then, on the job I can drop a rear seat off the side into place and take a client to lunch, listening to them remark how cool the car is! With gas mileage over twenty mpg (near 25 on the road) with regular gas, a comftorable ride, a nice sound system (though the fm reception is poor)and honda reliability with flair to spare, this little suv is close to perfect.

  • LOVE my new E!! - 2008 Honda Element
    By -

I drove several different vehicles including the tiny Fit and a luxurious CRV, but as soon as I got into the Element I knew it was the right one. The kiwi-metallic color puts a smile on my face every time I see it and it is so much fun to drive. The factory stereo BUMPS! Accelerates well enough... I dont drive too aggressively... kid seat fits with tons of room left over. I wish the rear windows rolled down. They pop open but that can be a hassle while driving. The seats are fairly comfortable. A little stiff but that helps a bad back on a long drive... good support. TONS of interior room. Feels like a real sturdy vehicle. Drove WAY better than the Pilot. Never loved a car like I love my Element!!

We bought the SC and have gotten lots of compliments about its looks. Its very versatile. Its a lot of fun to drive. It handles great for its shape. It has a great sound system and its a killer tailgating machine. We purchased the legs for the built in table and it works great. Weve put over 10,000 on it and loved every mile.

  • Awesome vehicle - 2005 Honda Element

I love this vehicle. I had always thought I wanted one, but it was not until I drove it that I had to have it! I think it is the most comfortable seats and I drive all over the country on long trips of more than 10 hours at a stretch. If you go from an American van to this, you will be in heaven! The only knock is the gas mileage, too many stops to refill. I do get in the twenties, generally 300 miles on a tank full, but I have run it to 360 miles. My ACN business keeps me on the road, and I practically live out of it.

This is the best car I have ever had. Its great for my business needs and my family needs. We have a florist and it can be turned into a delivery vehicle in no time. Its also great for my family. We have 2 children and 2 German Shepards. We take it camping or on trips and we all fit comfortably.

We liked the Element we bought in 2003 so much we bought another in 2004. His and His models. They are versatile, super functional and really zip around. Can cruise at 90 on turnpike or slow go at the beach.
