Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

Dont beleive all the hype about an Element only being for young kids. If you need the function and space of an SUV but dont want to overspend $$ or overuse gas, the Element is for you. Overall, the review I read was accurate, except I havent had any problems w/ road/wind noise. It carries an unbeleiveable amount of stuff.

I have had this car for a little over a month now. I love it. The interior is great if you need lots of space ( foldup rear seats or take out completly) It has decent power, and is pretty good on gas for an SUV. It also looks a little different than most SUVs making it distinctive in looks. You either love it or hate it.

The Element is a great vehicle with everything I want but I would have liked..... a. the sunroof in the back to be electric sliding. b. the sunroof to be able to be popped out with bike attachment on. it does not. c. a fifth seat would be nice. i do not need it but i am sure some people do.

ok, so my title is cheesy. Im a new Element owner and I shopped around for three months before coming to a unanimus decision. My other two choices were the saturn vue and the mitsubishi outlander. None fit my lifestyle or pokcet book except the element. Im 27, have wife and kids; still pretty phisically active so the extra room and folding seats are a plus. I congratulate Honda because it made a vehicle that has evolved from the ordinary SUV.

  • My favorite car ever, and heres why - 2005 Honda Element

Ive had many cars, and liked many of them a lot. But I honestly love my Honda Element. Its style, function, performance, reliability and FUN are beyond anything Ive ever driven. I have the AWD EX model with side airbags, so Im getting everywhere safely. I love the ability to fold up the rear seats or remove them altogether if Ive got a haul from the garden center or flea market. The Element is so easy to keep sparkling clean. Its light and airy inside, with tons of head room, shoulder room, and space around you. Also great little nooks and cubbies for storage. Road trips are a must with this car. Love the Aux port for my iPod and the subwoofer. I just LOVE this car! Test drive one!

I love this "truck." If I could get another, I would. Whenever I go camping, mountain biking, or even just to drive around, it is an awesome piece of machinery.

Like many, did not like the style until I test drove one. Our family now loves the car we bought since it is as much fun for our 6 year old as it is for us. The stereo is superb along with the handling, quality, etc. The headroom and rear room is great but the driver could use about 1-2" more legroom. A carpeted trough to hold small items in the rear cargo area would be nice. The center console tray could be higher to be able to reach drinks etc. easier and there could be an out-of-sight (covered) area for change, phone, etc. These are minor things. The car is fantastic and a joy to drive. Our first Honda and definitely not our last.

Drove the Element from the SF Bay Area over the Sierras to Reno and back last weekend. It did better than I expected in the mountains, climbing at speed without problems. I chose the car mostly for its cargo- carrying capability, and have been very happy with it for that reason. I would NOT choose black again, though the Honda black is nice, with dark blue metallic flakes in the paint. Its just too hard to keep clean. Yesterday I say one with the darker silver/gray color...should have chosen that, I think. Live and learn!

  • Dream Car!!! - 2006 Honda Element

When I first saw the vehicle, I thought my wife was nuts for wanting it. It looked to me like an armoured car. It took about 1 mile driving for me to fall in love with it. It handles and runs exquisitely. Extremely fun to drive, and the extras (ours is loaded) are great. Its the tightest feeling build I have ever experienced. Turns on a dime. Great on the highway and in The Pine Barrens or at the Jersey shore. Room, room, room! And LOTS of window area, which I like. I expect that, very soon, there will be a LONG waiting list for these vehicles. Makes driving FUN again!
