Overview & Reviews
Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

The BOX - 2004 Honda Element
By cytokid285 - October 24 - 10:00 amThe first full up was city driving and it was 22 mpg. I went on a 400 trip and the mpg was 26. The second car is a Ford 2002 XLT Explorer. The Explorers ride is smoother, space is larger, but the Honda is quieter, MPG is 7 better, and the handling is much better. The explorer is my wifes car and its replacement will be a Hydrid Escape or a Honda CRV. The Honda is mine and I will probably drive it for about 200,000 miles before I consider replacing it. That is the main difference outside of overall MPG. The honda will last that long with really no major repairs expected, the Ford could but they do not design it too.

Great Car... - 2004 Honda Element
By JoeSchmoe123 - October 19 - 10:00 amNo complaints. One thing I would change is an increase in MPG, but it is better than most other SUVs.

Element-Like it a lot - 2003 Honda Element
By Big JDHS - October 5 - 10:00 amIts funny looking...so well thought out. Three weeks old. So much room and easy to get at all interior areas. Why did it take a car mfg. so long to come back with these doors from the Nash? Im 55 yrs and love this car. Color black, manual trans. Fun to drive. Great visability, comfortable. I put sheepskins on front seats and it couldnt be better. Needs passenger arm rest.

Mother of 3 Teenage Boys - 2003 Honda Element
By Joyslee - September 22 - 2:00 amLove, love, love this car. Backing out of a steep gravel driveway, my friends SUV slipped and kicked gravel, and almost didnt make it. My Element just slipped a half second, kicked into 4WD, and I cruised out. I cant wait to drive it on snow. If you live where these cars are few and far between, be prepared to be stared at (and maybe laughed at) for driving such an unusual looking vehicle.

Driving Is Fun Again - 2003 Honda Element
By donnacarol - September 22 - 2:00 amTraded my cadi for one. All I have to say is just do it, take a test drive in one. Notice the handling, ride, turning radius, visibility, and the room inside. Plenty of power for my needs, are you sure it is a 4? Driving is now fun again for me. Living in N. Ohio I can hardly wait to drive it in the snow. Thank-you Honda!

By Carla Kreegar - September 22 - 2:00 amThis is an awesome vehicle. Especially for folks with kids. The seats recline..its like a built in changing table. And everything can be wiped down. No carpet to ruin...just a PVC flooring thats totally durable. We dont know what we did before buying the ELEMENT.
