Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

  • Big Little (or is it Little Big) Car - 2003 Honda Element

You cant beat this car. $22,000 for a 4WD car that everybody wants to take a look at and it drives like a dream. It is such a big "little" car. Made by Honda, so it will last forever. I spilled pizza sauce on the seats and wipped it right off the waterproof seats. I love this car. Best choice I ever made!!!

Super roomy (Im 64") and super quick to reconfigure the interior. Great 5 sp and good in midwest snow. Great A/C, Great stock stereo, Ive had stereo shops question why Id want to upgrade. Styling grows on you like a funky lovable dog (to know it is to love it). Not quick like my SRT-4 (of course) but plenty fast on the highway. Lotta business trips to KC in the 80s-90s.

i bought the ex model in orange, and added the 8-cd changer and running boards. i love the quiet and extremely comfortable ride, the spaciousness, the visabiliy, the maneuverability, the sound system, the ease of interior cleaning and maintainence.... and the great reaction from the general public! only complaints so far - no passenger left arm rest and the fm and am radio reception is poor.

  • This ones just right - 2006 Honda Element

We tried a cr-v, that was too small. We tried a highlander, that was too big. then we tried the Element and it was just right. The interior is perfect for our active lifestyle as well as the lifestyle of our 90 lb dog. The exterior is sleek and functional. The gas mileage is better than we had hoped for in an suv. Overall we are very pleased with the element.

  • Happy with Element - 2003 Honda Element

We purchased the Element two weeks ago. Went to Tahoe this past weekend and it took the mountain roads with no problem. We were passing V8s on the way up Hwy 88. The interior is roomy, and easy to clean. We have two dogs and it is easy for them to get in and out of the car. There really isnt anything I do not like about the Element except the fact that almost everything on it is optional.

  • Boggled 1 - 2004 Honda Element

This is one of the most well thought out vehicles on the market today. Although Honda tried to target the younger drivers. Im 44 years old and appretiate all that the element offers. As a home owner, there are times when I have to haul items. The removal of the rear seats makes this task very easy. As well as the clean up, when all you have to do is wash out the interior with a hose. The comfort and styling are impressive too. And the sound system is superb. My wife and I really like having the Element experience. Were boggled!

Just bought my ELEMENT and I love it. My first foray into SUV and this one is not only Funky, but Fun to drive and travel in. ThisSUV is NOT like everyone else. This is not the Soccer Moms SUV! This is the I want to have fun and travel in style SUV and I couldnt be more impressed with its style comfort and power!

  • Great vehicle at a great price - 2004 Honda Element

I hate to think that I was a victim of corporate advertising but it happened. Honda marketed the Element for the 21- 30 year old male population, and I bought it hook line ans sinker. Although I have to admit, my Element is by far the most fun to drive and the most versatile vehicle I have ever owned. I gave it a great review because it dserves it. I am looking forward to many years of this sUv (emphasis on the U) giving me ample cargo space, great gas mileage, and lots of fun!

Great use of interior space. Simple reliable AWD. No-frills fun styling. Good gas mileage.

  • Dont Believe the Hype - 2004 Honda Element

No matter what everyone says, dont hose this one out. We did, as indicated on a number of web sites and a $566 repair bill resulted. Honda will not pay for the repair because it was "not a manufacturing defect." The salesman told us we could hose it out, too. Honda is content to get the business from folks who want "easy clean," but when people buy the car because of this feature, they dont stand behind you.
