Overview & Reviews
Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

Not just for young people - 2003 Honda Element
By sillig - February 4 - 10:00 amOur first Honda. The Element was purchased to replace our wrecked 90 Dodge Turbo Caravan. The upright windshield provides a commanding view. Comfortable adjustable seats, big easy to operate radio and ventilation controls. Two rear seats completely adjustable and comfortable with plenty of headroom and easy to put child seats in. Very very easy. The Element runs quietly on the highway at 58-62mph (my max speed). The Cruise is the best I have ever used. The Element is a joy to drive. It reeks of quality construction. Everything works just like its suppose to. At 250 miles this is a first impressions report.

funwagon rocks - 2004 Honda Element
By TrailNut - January 22 - 2:00 am5spd AWD is really fun (!) to drive, quicker ( in 0 to 60 mph) than a v8 Chevy Tahoe SUV, nimble as a Civic with anti-lock brakes.

I Heart My Honda Element - 2004 Honda Element
By DeeDeVaux - January 17 - 10:00 amAfter test driving all the mid-size SUVs on the market. my husband and I found the Element to have the most comfort (head & leg room), the best pick-up when moving into 4WD, and the best price. The stereo system is awesome and I wouldnt trade it for any other SUV on the market! We love the uniqueness of the outside, too.

AWD extremely poor - 2004 Honda Element
By Sugarfoot - January 17 - 10:00 amLove the vehbicle EXCEPT FOR an AWD system that doesnt cut it. With no locking differential, I find the vehicle has very poor traction on wet or snow covered surfaces that permit diagonal front & rear whels to lose traction. For me, this happened far to often. There is also an issue with windshield cracks that is not acknowledged or backed up by Honda. Ground clearance is also too low for off road use. Gas tank is vulnerable.

Love My Element - 2004 Honda Element
By Element lover - January 12 - 10:00 amI do alot of my own home repairs and this has been a great vehicle for picking up materials at the local hardware store. I also drove this car 2400 miles round trip as the only driver and did not have the usual fatigue I have had in driving a sedan over long distances.
