Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

I purchased this car for my business. It has become my "drive everywhere" car. My friends love it. We take road trips and we all feel relaxed. Because of the massive leg room and because the back seats recline, the passsengers in the back seats are just as comfortable as the front seat passengers.

Buy this car. The only problems that I have found after 5,000 miles is the blind spots. The A & B pillars are large, because of the reinforced cage, and sometimes become unfriendly blindspots. You really have to use your mirrors. Also the body panels. I love the look, but they scratch, not easily, but they do. I had someone back into me in a parking lot, not very hard, and it scratched the rear quarter panel. The guy wanted to pay out of pocket for the damage. I went to the dealer for the quarter panel. Price, $96.00. Not too bad. Overall I am happy with this fun, roomy vehicle.

On the way to buying a BMW all wheeldrive 3 series wagon, we bought thiselement. The wife had the choice betweenthe Element and the BMW. The decisionwas not close; the Element had the appeal. It is a great little vehicle. Verypractical and fun. The BMW is quicker, but more expensive, and a lot lesspractical. This vehicle will easily carry fouradults, a big dog, and luggage. This isvery unusual in a small SUV or wagon. This vehicle was aimed at the surferdude market. While it may be great forthem, it is also great for the 40+ crowdwho are not trapped by stereo types.

I love my Honda Element! It is fun to drive and is stylish enough to get lots of looks on the road! Gas mileage is fanatastic, coming from an ex-Ford Explorer driver. I dont miss that SUV! Maintenance schedule is easy to keep; simply bring it in every 5,000 miles. Oil changes and all else are kept to that schedule. I have had it since April and havent had one problem at all! Whats not to love!!!!

  • Best of all worlds - 2003 Honda Element

The element provides many of the best features of a suv, mini-van and economy car in a fun package. I am 65", have kids and needed a vehicle for outdoors, kid-travel and soccer meets, but did not wish to have a gas- gusselling large suv. The element fit the bill. The kids cannot trash it!

  • A lot of Value for the Money - 2006 Honda Element

This is my first Honda. The build quality is exellent. The rear doors are a little quirky, hard to use when parked next to another car. The value for the money goes on and on. Four- wheel disc brakes w/ABS, four air bags, bumpin stereo system, power mirrors, windows, locks. This element has more than enough power for highway speeds. Very tight turning circle.
