Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

I really like this car but I have one complaint about visibility. The driver and passenger side have a blind spot. The rather large window post can swallow a car whole and if you are not careful you could be unpleasantly surprised.

Wow! I am a senior now looking for an easy to take care of car. I found it in my element, my little "Hummer." Now I have to find a boat as easy to take care of.

This has been a wonderful vehicle so far. I traded in my 2000 Ford ranger in for it. It handles well in corners. Has a great stadium seating view for the rear passengers. The radio alone was worth the purchase.

  • my husband loves it but its ugly - 2003 Honda Element
    By -

I like the way the vehicle drives, but it is still a little strange looking to me! I had a Toyota 4-runner for the last 8 years, and when we had a baby a few months ago, it was aggravating to get the car seat in and out of it so we had to get something different. My husband really liked these and we went and test drove one, I love the roominess, and the fact that you can wash it out, and the car seat fits in it wonderfully. . The 2nd day we had it we tried to use a bootle warmer in the 12 volt accessory plug and it was way to tight and it tore up and they tried to charge us to fix it!

  • Can carry Computers - 2003 Honda Element

Got this car to carry work equipment in because the floor and sides were so durrable. I can carry the kids one minute and switch the cargo to carry equipment the next. Great so far.

  • My Element has problems! - 2003 Honda Element
    By -

Battery is dead if not driven in 7-15 days and the dealer cant figure out why. They replaced the battery, radio, multiplex unit and amplifier and something is still draining the battery. Its now under Lemon Law, which is a real joke. Runs great if you can get it started.

  • I love my Element! - 2005 Honda Element
    By -

The thing I love most about my Element is that its so unique. There are no other SUVs out there that even compare to the Element, inside or out. It drives great and corners very well for an SUV. Its extremely spacious without being too plain. It has so many accesories you can get to personalize your Element to fit your lifestyle. Its really an SUV that will do anything you want it to do, be anything you want it to be. Whether its hauling people from place to place or using it as a tent, it does all things well!

  • BUCK THE SUV/MINIVAN TREND!! - 2004 Honda Element
    By -

This is, by far, the best value vehicle on the market!! It is the most practical, economical, fun-to-drive vehicle built today and it turns heads wherever I go!! It not only gets good gas mileage and has tons of cargo room, but it has umpteen seating configurations and is easy on the wallet. Also, the quality of the workmanship, fit and finish, standard features make for an unbeatable deal for the price!!

  • you wouldnt understand its a HONDA thing - 2004 Honda Element
    By -

Ive had my Element for three months, and already 10,000 miles. This vehicle is terrific in every sense of the word. After four Accords since 1987 and over a million miles on them I again put my trust in them and this car is perfect. Ive camped in in four times been to the Indy 500, MIS races with one more to go and its just the best. Great fuel milage great ride and no not the noise that I have read about. I drive it over a hundred miles a day to work and back on the freeway and it doesnt skip a beat. And of course my 17 year old has to drive it just to "show off". Although there is nothing wrong with her Civic. Honda has another winner here.
