Overview & Reviews
Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

Practical AND Cool - 2005 Honda Element
By Lorri - October 11 - 11:03 amI live a couple miles off of a paved highway, so I average 4-6 mileas a day off the pavement. The Element handles the hills and bumps as well as a larger SUV, and the lower center of gravity makes it corner more like a sedan. It is surprzingly roomy inside. The seats are comfortable and spills wipe up like a breeze. The hatch doors make it easy to get larger objects inside. With the seats folded up to the sides, you can get a set of patio furniture inside easily. In addition to all of this, its just plain fun to drive! Pop out the removeable sunroof and open the windows and youre ready to enjoy the day! Drawbacks - not many, Its a well thought out and fun vehicle.

It doesnt seem sluggish - 2003 Honda Element
By Ragekit13 - October 6 - 10:00 amI bought the Element because Im married now and have a dog and needed something more versatile and easy to clean on those weekend getaways or out camping. I gave up my 2002 WRX...it was hard, but someday...Sti? Anyway, Ive read reviews on the automatic being sluggish and am confused. Sure 0- 60 time is o.k., but off the line it has plenty of torque. I would have had to rev my WRX up to 6000 RPM and drop the clutch to beat this thing off the line. Its been a very fun vehicle and I highly recommend it for anyone with an active lifestyle--old, or young.

By mary Boucher - September 29 - 11:26 pmThe honda element is the best design in a new car Ive seen in years. I have a 3 year old that just loves it. My husband and I like to drive it more then our Audi or suburban.

Dont know where Id be without it. - 2005 Honda Element
By The Lazer Viking - September 26 - 12:13 amI bought this car because I am in a band, and I needed a strong and rugged car to haul all of my equipment in. At first sight I thought it was the ugliest thing in the world, but as time went on I became much more attached. I love the seats; not only are they comfortable, but they are waterproof and stain resistant. The audio system is amazing and the fact that the rear seats fold up easily makes it very easy to transport my stuff. What really surprised me, and something that I havent seen mentioned, is the incredible handling and sharp turning capability of this car compared to others in the same price range. I would highly recommend the Element, even if you think it looks funny.

sara - 2005 Honda Element
By Letisha - September 1 - 6:33 pmThis is a great mini truck. It handles well in the snow but not in Long Island sand. I was told it could be taken on the sand and it almost got taken away with the current. It has alot of fun things in it and that you can buy. Its like a little camper. I think this is a great car for people who like to go on road trips or just like to chill out in there car. I would not recommend this car for a family ;it is more of a singles car. Love it!!

my baby - 2005 Honda Element
By molly - August 25 - 10:13 pmI would advise everybody to buy this or any honda. It is the greatest. It drives smoothly. When you make turns it doesnt tilt. Back seats are so roomy that my 6 foot Uncle has plenty of room to stretch out. The inside is so easy to clean out its so funny. The big thing about this car is that there is soooo much room (legs, storage, back seat). All I can say is that you need to go test drive one and you will see that it is a car you need to get.

2003 EX 5-Speed - 2003 Honda Element
By lsteere - August 18 - 2:00 amWe purchased this vehicle a few weeks ago because of it price and verstility. We are very happy so far. Its fun to drive (especially the 5-speed) and has a very nice ride. It also has a smooth, short-throw, dash-mounted shifter thats perfectly positioned and a pleasure to operate. My first impression of the looks - ugly. But Ive found that it really grows on you. Now I think its the best looking SUV on the road!

The Element: So Ugly, It is CUTE! - 2005 Honda Element
By Dean - August 17 - 9:03 amIt runs well, and gets over 21mpg REAL mileage, in the city and mountain driving. TALL PEOPLE ALERT! More important to me, it has enough headroom -- I am 65". I cannot safely sit in and drive most cars. The element is a joy to drive. Big rear door and tailgate, removable moon roof, and big side doors with no post are really great! Great power with good mileage. Only has two rear seats, but they fold up and come out easily for major loads and camping. I love it! I have had Isuzu Trooper and Suzuki Sidekick and other cars, but I really like this and recommend it. I have received (jealous) jokes about it being a delivery truck, but it is so ugly, it is cute!
