Overview & Reviews
Honda has added an additional trim level to the 2006 Honda Element line, the EX-P. Based upon the EX, it adds body-color exterior panels. The EX receives new alloy wheels and steering wheel audio controls, while the LX gets the former EX-exclusive metallic exterior cladding and standard antilock brakes. Additionally, stated power for the engine is a bit lower this year due to Honda's adoption of new SAE engine testing procedures.
- Spacious, waterproof interior, optional all-wheel drive, smooth four-cylinder engine, balanced handling, standard ABS.
- Only seats four, clamshell doors hinder entry/exit for rear-seat passengers.

One great automobile! - 2006 Honda Element
By Michael - September 4 - 10:43 amThis is the first Honda Ive owned and I love it. I love the EX-P model because it has the painted body clad molding that matches the SUV. Its fun to drive and has a lot of room in it. I have more room in the front of it than my wife has in her Ford Explorer Sport Trac. The gas mileage so far hasnt been as good as I expected but it only had 3 miles on it when I purchased it. I hope the more I drive it, the better the mileage will be. All together I love this SUV!! I would recommend it to anyone.

Love My 3rd Honda - 2006 Honda Element
By Element Lover - April 17 - 11:26 pmI am not someone who really cares about what I drive but I am PASSIONATE about this care. It is so fun to drive. I gave her my civic with over 15I have had two civics and loved them both. I decided to trade up to the Element when my daughter needed a car. She is about to give that civic with 230K miles to my younger daughter and buy her own Element. I bought my first Honda because I have friends who drove their Hondas over 200K and the interiors still looked good and they had no real mechanical porblems. I LOVE my Element. It is great for carrying people or stuff. Everyone that rides in it loves it. This is the a car that I will keep for 10 years or more. Great traction and smooth ride.

first time ownet of a honda - 2006 Honda Element
By steve - January 11 - 3:13 pmThe honda element is small short suv/wagon/truck/jeep like vehicle that takes your eye at first. Since I havent owned it long enough. I cant realy judge reliability but its seems to handle well. Wish there were more options that were standard equipment, especially a roof rack, instead of some the comfort features they give.

Needed More Room! - 2006 Honda Element
By Amanda - August 27 - 3:46 pmI just bought this Element a few days ago after owning my Honda Civic Hybrid since 2003. Big difference in gas mileage, but with a 4 month old daughter we needed a lot more room! We stuck with a Honda because we love the quality and we loved the price of the Element. Its cute, its practical and it gets the job done. I love the fact that when my daughters old enough to drink and eat, I dont have to worry about stained seats and carpet.

My best car....ever! - 2006 Honda Element
By Dave - July 21 - 2:40 amThis is the best car I have ever owned! Its fun to drive, it has great space and its a Honda. If you want creature comforts, this car is not for you, but if you love something thats practical and reliable...this car is for you. Great sound system. The most roomy car I have ever been in. More roomy than the Hummer H2 and H3. Very easy to park anywhere.

ELEMENTal Excellence - 2006 Honda Element
By Happy Honda Owner - April 18 - 12:36 amI you are an active person, live life out of your vehicle, this is the one for you. I used to own a pickup truck to carry my gear (bike, climbing, camping, scuba equipment). It worked fine; but with the Element, packing and unpacking is done is a third of the time it took for my pickup. It is amazing how much space this little SUV has. With all of the safety features, the easy (and I mean really easy) clean-up floors and seats, it is perfect for the active lifestyle.

Short Term Impressions - 2006 Honda Element
By Mobius - May 18 - 7:50 pmIve had the car for about two weeks, but so far it has met or exceeded all expectations. It is very peppy around town, and has no problem on the interstate. I am a large man (300+ lbs) and feel very comfortable driving this vehicle, the rear seat roominess is truly outstanding. As I said I am large, but my friend "Bob" is truly enormous at 66" and over 425 lbs. And even he has no difficulty riding in the front passenger seat. Yes it is that roomy.

The real thing!!!! - 2006 Honda Element
By JOHN - November 20 - 12:00 pmThis might be not so good looking of a auto but remember the only skin deep thought! It is so nice to drive this auto . Really we owned a jeep wrangler before this and this is 100% better then the jeep . The element is nice hidden auto that i cant believe it isnt as popular because it is a really good deal !!!!! Example we paid 25000 for a jeep sport and check what a sport comes with ! The element much less in price $21,000 that is $4000 less and we got alot more all round !Element is a really nice and functional auto 100% to honda !!!

A lot of Value for the Money - 2006 Honda Element
By Rudy2000 - July 24 - 4:40 amThis is my first Honda. The build quality is exellent. The rear doors are a little quirky, hard to use when parked next to another car. The value for the money goes on and on. Four- wheel disc brakes w/ABS, four air bags, bumpin stereo system, power mirrors, windows, locks. This element has more than enough power for highway speeds. Very tight turning circle.

This ones just right - 2006 Honda Element
By bpd - December 23 - 10:30 pmWe tried a cr-v, that was too small. We tried a highlander, that was too big. then we tried the Element and it was just right. The interior is perfect for our active lifestyle as well as the lifestyle of our 90 lb dog. The exterior is sleek and functional. The gas mileage is better than we had hoped for in an suv. Overall we are very pleased with the element.
