Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

a great & fun car...gets attention every where I go. Wish it got a little more "pick-up" though, like my prvious SUV.

I am very happy to say that I am an Element owner...The minute I saw it at the Kansas City Auto Show I knew it was the car for my family...Its fun to drive and didnt set my bank account soaring downward...It rides tall and I feel very safe...I had been a minivan owner for about 15 yrs so now, I still have alot of room but a 4-wheel drive sports utility thats more fun for the money!

This has been my favorite car I think I have ever owned! It is without a doubt the most well thought out and functional car I have ever had. I love the mileage; Im getting about 26 mpg on the highway with the 5 speed and it runs as fast as any other car around. I will definitely buy another one! I have put 13,000 miles on it in only 4 months thanks to the driving I do with my job.

What can I say! Its everything you could ask for in an inexpensive SUV. If you have kids, this car is a must. Very practical and very UGLY but I love it. This is my first Honda ever and now it wont be my last. I only ask for one addition, an outside temp guage and compass. Regards, Barry Giardini (A very satisfied Element Owner at 43) P.S. Ive owned this car for 6 months and have had zero problems

the honda element is the most interesting vehicle i have ever purchased. i have taken several long trips in it and enjoy the visability you get while driving it. it seems to keep you alert while driving and i dont seem to get tired like i normally do on long trips. though it was targeted to a younger crowd, i think the element will grow in popularity as time goes by.

We love this ugly duckling. It is fun to drive, and offers much cargo room under cover for transporting all kinds of things, esp our four (4) dogs. Best of all: we take it on non-stop 1,050 mile long drives and the seating is superb. The seats place you up high enough so you can drive with knees fully bent. Best car I have ever had for long distance driving. And the head room is beyond anyones need. One of our all time favs!

  • Fun and Versatility a Winning Combinatio - 2004 Honda Element

I dont fit the marketing target profile for Element owners (63 years old, retired), but this car is the most fun to drive and is the most versatile of any Ive ever owned. Three of my friends have purchased Elements after they saw the incredible flexibility in mine. Ive had the car four months and have had zero, zip problems with it. I enjoy the curious looks I get while driving it, and I actually think the car is attractive.

Except for ease of entry into the backseat area, the car is perfect. But my parents have trouble getting in the back area because the floor is so high. Other than that, no complaints! Great car!

  • What an SUV is supposed to be - 2005 Honda Element
    By -

SUVs were meant to be used for working..the home improvement store, dogs, etc. The Element fits that category. Great for driving to work, but hauls hay too. Handles difficult weather conditions on the road extremely well. Easy to clean...aimed towards kids going to the beach..Honda has found that its the adult of any age with an active lifestyle thats purchasing them.
