Overview & Reviews
Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

The Little Engine That Could - 2004 Honda Element
By johnsonmfg - August 9 - 10:00 amI was a Honda Prelude driver nearly eight years before purchasing my new Element. No one had to sell me on Honda quality, but I never realized what a difference a little "styling" would make. For one thing, I dont ever speed any more. Now I obey all the traffic signals, indeed, I have never been a more courteous driver. Ill never go back to my former self, rushing around, slamming into corners, drifting the eases. Rather, I like who I have become and its all because of my funny little car that reminds me of a childrens book I once read. Im over 65, so it was time for me to slow down anyway. I agree, but a lot of other seniors must feel the same way.

I Love my Honda Element - 2004 Honda Element
By LyE - August 9 - 10:00 amTheres NOTHING like it on the road and people are constantly asking to check out the interior. Complete strangers will say they were initially turned off by the xterior but then love it so much, many state theyll be buying one as soon as they can find their way to a Honda dealer.

storage - 2003 Honda Element
By Porterhill - August 9 - 2:00 amOne would think a SUV would have storage. Not! Space for storage is non-existent. There is space under the body alongside the spare and under the passenger side that Honda could have used but didnÂ’t. Where does one store tire chains or a first aid kit or for that matter a 6-pak without it sliding around. They could have made a larger glove box, as there is wasted space there as well. It might have been nice if Honda had not placed devices under the front passenger seat so one could slip long items under (like the mast to my wind surfer). I wind surf and mountain bike and can carry all toys inside. Most often I use the roof rack for the board.

Very Functional Vehicle - 2004 Honda Element
By Kurt - August 8 - 10:13 amWe have only had the vehicle for 3 weeks, but we have already taken a trip with it and put on about 2,000 miles. The vehicle has surprisingly good pep, and the sound system is well above average. It rides well, has plenty of leg room (my 68" brother in law had room to spare in the backseat), low road noise and most of all, it is very functional. I have only two criticisms; first, I only averaged about 24.7 miles/gallon on interstate (which was a little disappointing). Second, when you fold up the rear seats for storage (which is really nice feature), you have greatly reduced visibility and are forced to use mirrors almost exclusively (I dont think Honda can help that though).

In the Element - 2005 Honda Element
By Mark - August 4 - 12:43 pmFun to drive. Peppy with low center of gravity so it corners very well without feeling top heavy. Agile with a very short turning radius. Unbelievable room inside. Rear leg room is more than full size sedans! Easy to maintain with rubberized flooring and upholstery that is water resistant. Can be used as a small delivery vehicle, or, treated as a sports sedan. A very reliable unique automobile.

Perfection...for me - 2003 Honda Element
By JCM - July 31 - 10:00 amIm amazed...I got a fun car (surprisingly quick with the 5-speed manual) that has a great stereo system and doesnt conform to the typical soccer-mom SUV. Right now, its the deal of the century at 20 grand. Im in college, just turned 21, and would recommend this bad boy for anybody who dares to be different. Enjoy

New Element Owner - 2003 Honda Element
By MESOILEAU - July 31 - 2:00 amI just bought my Orange Element 2 days ago. I love the way it drives - it is smooth. It is also very roomy and I love the styling. It has good pickup, but could offer an optional V6.
