Overview & Reviews
Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

Excellent Element - 2004 Honda Element
By Bellatrix - November 3 - 10:00 amIt really is a teriffic car in every respect. The practicality is obvious but the surprise is that even though we have an Acura 3.0 CL & a Miata, my wife and I would both rather drive the Element! We took it on a long road trip just after we bought it and found it a real pleasure for that application.

Honda Element - 2003 Honda Element
By Macker - October 30 - 2:00 amOnly have about 400 miles on the car so this may be premature but I have to say Im very happy with the perfomance and handling at this early stage. Drove it 300 miles on a busy interstate in midatlantic winter. Lots of trucks and heavy crosswinds...no problems at 65+. Very comfortable..great sound system. Gets lots of attention-- what with the "unusual" styling. Somebody told me its looks like a "little Hummer". Advertized as a gen "Y" car, but this 55 year old likes it a lot!

2003 Honda Element EX 2WD - 2003 Honda Element
By Rob White - October 30 - 2:00 amThis vehicle is rock solid and absolutely fun to drive! Getting 25 + MPG during daily 150 mile commute and enjoying the "what is this?" stares. Without exception, everyone who rides in it and/or looks at it up close loves its utility and engineering. MANY nice touches-like remote entry system that will NOT let you lock yourself out because the only way to lock the drivers door is with the remote or the key from outside!

Fun SUV - 2003 Honda Element
By dzmaddog - October 13 - 10:00 amIn general, this is a very functional SVU. Very unique design of the doors and tailgate. For a 4-cyl engine, its got plenty power. It also has a responsive transmission. Real-time 4WD is also a plus on top of the 4-wheel disc ABS system.

Most fun car I have ever owned. - 2003 Honda Element
By Erika L. Miller - October 13 - 10:00 amWe were picking up our New Honda Odyssey Van when I noticed the Element on the same showfloor it was all opened up and I fell in love with it right off. It is such a fun car, practical and comfortable, inside and out. We bought it in Ames, Iowa at the Honda of Ames Dealership were we have bought all of our cars for many years, we like the reliability of Honda cars and the great design features and love the person that sells them to us. I think perhabst the Element was designed with young people in mind, and it works, I feel years younger when I drive it, and Im a 63 year old grandmother.
