Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

  • Its as unique as the owner! - 2004 Honda Element

When I was in search of a new vehicle, I wanted another SUV, only more economical and efficent. There were many to choose from, but only one stood out from the rest. I saw this cubical creature on the road, and wasnt for sure about it. I test drove it, and went to other dealership, and tried other boxes, but came away dissapointed. I couldnt put this, small looking box out of my mind, and remembered how roomy and efficent it was inside. It had alot of practical qualities inside of it, that some of the other more expensive ones didnt. It made me feel that I wasnt getting alot for my money! I had a chance to go with a major upgrade with all the fuss of the name, but I choose my box instead

The element get feature is the calm doors make its interior access a pleasure for not only entering and exting but cleaning also. The leg room for driver and front passanger is a little cramped but the head and amr space makes up for it. I bought all option for the vehical espeacially for the extirior, it cost close to an additional seven thousand, but it was worth it. It looks like a different call when you put on the trim. The 2.4 litter engin has plenty of power. I have trailer hitch and plain on useing it this summer, so I cant coment on its towing capiblities, but main taining speed even on steep inclines is no problem. The car is built soiled giving you a safe feeling inside.

  • Great Car at a Great price. - 2004 Honda Element

Ah, what a fun vehicle. Great for hauling packages or those sports toys. My bike fits inside and imagine in one piece!! There is plenty of room for guests and luggage. Gas mileage is better than most wagons. A value purchase I am pleased with.

  • Not another boring SUV - 2004 Honda Element

I am the proud owner of an orange 2004 Honda Element EX 4x4. It is safe, efficient, simple, comfortable, and very sure-footed on icy and snow-packed roads. The build quality is even better than that of my 1995 Accord (and I drove that car for 178,000 trouble- free miles). The styling is just different enough to differentiate itself from the countless thousands of bland Explorers and Tahoes that dominate surburban driveways. The visibility from the drivers seat is excellent and the short, sloped hood allows a clear view of the road immediately ahead of the vehicle. It corners very well and lacks the tippy feeling of so many SUVs. Overall, it is a very AFFORDABLE and functional SUV.

Great fun. Honda reliability. Great for hauling mulch and gardening supplies. More like a mini panel truck than a SUV. Very versatile. Perky engine.

  • LOVE THAT BOX - 2003 Honda Element

WE DUMPED OUR 91 Q45 TO GET OUT OF BAD RELIABILTY AND FUEL ECONOMY. THE ELEMENT GAVE US A BREATH OF FRESH AIR IN FUN AND UTILITY. FUEL MPG HAS BEEN CLOSE TO 26 ON TRIPS, NOT BAD CONSIDERING THIS BOX DOES NOT CUT THE WIND REAL GOOD. I HAVE HAD A DOZEN CARS, BUT NEVER ONE THAT TURNS HEADS LIKE THIS ELEMENT.

  • Great 2nd car for kids! - 2004 Honda Element

This is a great car. I have always had love hate relationships with my cars but this one is very different. I love the space inside. This car is wonderful for my kids. It is a perfect small family car. My kids feel like they are going on a ride every time they are inside it. My youngest son would sit in it all day if you let him. It is also fairly inexpensive to repair. I did some damage to the inside on the dashboard and it was under 50$ to replace the piece. A great car.

  • Fun tow car - 2004 Honda Element
    By -

Bought this car to tow with an RV. It replaced a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Tows great but even better it is a great car to drive. I have a really screwed up back (broke it a while back) and was concerned that the slightly hard seats were going to be bad. No way! First long road trip we knocked off 800 miles the first day. This is the only car we have that doesnt leave me limping when I get out. Much better than the Jeep. Amazing. It cruises very well and has a load of room. The heck with towing it, its fun to drive! Fit and finish are super.
