Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

  • Honda has a lemon in the Element - 2003 Honda Element

This car has so much wind noise & my dealership has not been able to locate my wind noise problem. The panels on the roof are help together with plastic clips & every time the dealership works on it they break another plastic clip or do not get the thing put back together properly. I had a 97 CRV before this one & loved it so much & had no problems so I decided to try another Honda. My mistake was not going back with another CRV. If you want a quiet ride this is not the car to own.

After driving my 04 Element for 7+ months now, I couldnt be happier with my purchase. This is one versatile vehicle, which does many things capably and some things brilliantly. A bit of background: Ive owned a stupid number of vehicles (about 20) in the last 20 years, everything from tiny sports cars to vans to SUVs to pickups, and the Element seems to me to be unique in that it has at least a little something thats desirable in all those segments rolled into one vehicle.

I love driving this little big utility suv. My job requires me to haul some things and it fits the bill just right. I feel like I am driving an expensive SUV but I am not. Mileage is really good. Love it, Love it.

I love my element. It gets great gas mileage. It is so versatile. Ive camped in it many times over the years. Alot of people have negitive comments on how it looks then I give them the full tour and what all it can do, then thier whole attitude changes about the car and go away liking, if not loving the car. I have fully enjoyed owning and driving my Element

  • great buy for the money - 2003 Honda Element

This car is most the best car yet. I bought it because I was having a baby and it looked to be a good car to load the baby seat and the stroller. I have found that I was right. I also recently bought a washer and a dryer adn I placed them BOTH standing upright into the honda element without a problem. This is not just a teen market that the element gears towards, it is geared towards a family adn all the car loads that goes with it....A MUST BUY!

It was my intention to buy a 2003 CR-V. While visiting a couple Honda showrooms this summer the Element kept catching my eye. My wife suggested that I test drive one and wow that sold me. The CR- V test drove great but the Element was so much more exciting and fun. I love the funky way it looks and the interior is really cool and practical. My 18 year old daughter isnt quite sold on the looks but my 22 year old daughter loves it. I took my two archetect frends to the ballgame and all the way there and back all I heard was cool.

  • first time ownet of a honda - 2006 Honda Element

The honda element is small short suv/wagon/truck/jeep like vehicle that takes your eye at first. Since I havent owned it long enough. I cant realy judge reliability but its seems to handle well. Wish there were more options that were standard equipment, especially a roof rack, instead of some the comfort features they give.

  • The Greatest Utility Vehicle - 2004 Honda Element

A lot of people dont seem to like the Element, but it is what it is. Its the easiest around town hauler to use. Its very very functional. And the flip-up seats make it great for last minute loads of stuff. The design is very retro/modern. The sound system is great, and the engine performs well. Its a very well rounded, low end Utility Vehicle, its not sport anything. Its just stylish.
