Overview & Reviews
Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

Almost Pefect - 2004 Honda Element
By MEMoore - March 29 - 1:36 pmI havent been this excited about a new car in decades! As word gets out, this car will become the 21st centurys Beetle. A sublime mix of functionality and cost. I tote a lot of stuff every day and the suicide doors make loading it so much easier. Contrary to reports, the Element with 5 speed manual is a very peppy car. My wife cringed when I insisted on an Element to replace a 95 Civic. Admittedly, I thought her CR-V was the ideal car for the money, until I got the Element. The Element trumps it at thousands less. Although she wont admit it, shes fallen for it too!

Love this car! - 2005 Honda Element
By marilyn barker - March 29 - 3:50 amIm very happy with my new Element. Its very comfortable to drive, I love the way it looks both inside and out. I get so many compliments from people that see me driving the car. I added roof racks and running boards which adds to its cute appearance. At first I was tripping over the running board as I got in the car but after a few days I adjusted and now it never happens. I love the worry free interior....no panic over spills that could ruin the usual carpeted floors or plush fabrics. Im tall and the seats are very comfortable for me. The waterproof upholstry is comfortable to sit on even in a bathing suit. I just couldnt be happier with my new car.

Love my green machine - 2003 Honda Element
By Jet Carey - March 23 - 10:05 pmThis car is great. So far, 24,000 miles and only routine maintenance. Tires have held up great. We have horrendous winters here and the car handles great in the snow. As avid cyclists, we love to just throw our bikes and all our gear in the back. We got the side steps and they look great.

Masterful Design - 2004 Honda Element
By Brenda H - March 22 - 5:28 pmEven though it has unusual appearances, we were intrigued enough to take one for a test drive. The automatic transmission left us interested and engaged. But, we were practically screaming with delight after driving one with a manual transmission and could not make the purchase transaction fast enough. We would purchase this car again. Due to its unique styling, we encounter numerous inquiries from strangers that allow us to emphatically tell them about the car. This car is such an impressive combination of function and comfort that the exterior styling naunces have become truly endearing!

Great Car! - 2003 Honda Element
By Elephant - March 14 - 12:56 amThis car is awesome in many ways. Lots of room for anything, and very well thought out. All the benefits of a larger SUV, with few trade offs.

Love it! - 2003 Honda Element
By Erin406 - March 2 - 10:00 amIve owned my Element for about a month now and I love it! Everyone wants to look inside- its a real attention grabber! Ive taken mine on several trips already and its been a fabulous ride! I would suggest adding the keyless entry and the carpeted floor mats like I did. I paid less then $250 for mine to be installed with a remote starter! Gas mileage is great for a SUV-- Ive been averaging 25 MPG! I would highly recommend the Element.

Elements damage in accident - 2003 Honda Element
By Alycen - February 28 - 7:10 pmMy husband wanted it SO bad! I wanted the Ford Escape. Thank God he convinced me! In the icy snow, we totaled our 03 Element and it saved our lives! Unfortunately, the 20 mph impact into a mountainside and then into a tree did a lot of damage to the front end and rear suspension, but its a tough little truck with a lot of safety features people dont know about! Other then minor bruises from the seatbelts, we WALKED away happy customers and on our way to Honda to buy a 2005!
