Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

  • Where Have You Been All My Life - 2004 Honda Element

This is the vehicle Ive been waiting for. Im 63" and the Element has provided not only necessary leg room but also unexpected head room. As my sister said..."you fit in this car." Since purchasing it, I have driven from Chicago to Butte, MT and back and what has always been a long trip turned out to be a joy to drive. I have also moved to the DC area recently and with the rear seats folded I was able to transfer all those "little things" that you need upon arrival to the new apartment without any hassle. For those with a sense of individuality and a desire for quality, the Element meets both qualifications. P.S. The cat likes it too.

  • Love My 3rd Honda - 2006 Honda Element

I am not someone who really cares about what I drive but I am PASSIONATE about this care. It is so fun to drive. I gave her my civic with over 15I have had two civics and loved them both. I decided to trade up to the Element when my daughter needed a car. She is about to give that civic with 230K miles to my younger daughter and buy her own Element. I bought my first Honda because I have friends who drove their Hondas over 200K and the interiors still looked good and they had no real mechanical porblems. I LOVE my Element. It is great for carrying people or stuff. Everyone that rides in it loves it. This is the a car that I will keep for 10 years or more. Great traction and smooth ride.

  • Please Sir May I have Another ??? - 2004 Honda Element

My wife had got hers in march of 2004 it was a 2003 Dx 2wd hold over. I was driving my 2001 gas hog F150 14 mpg in town and 16 highway and it was just killing me in cost to keep it gased up so bye bye to that at $2.00+ per gallon so now after a few months with the ex i had only 1 prob with the cruise button that broke and her 03 dx had to have the drivers seat bracket replaced i was told this (the seat bracket)was a issue with the early models but thats it.

  • Not the perfect Mommies Car - 2004 Honda Element
    By -

I thought the E would be perfect for a newborn baby, it is in the sense that if you spill something it wipes right up. The ease of cleaning is my favorite feature. But I hate the suicide doors. If someone parks close to you, its a dance to get the carrier in the car and not hit the other car with your doors or trap yourself inside. Not that you should be messing with the baby while your driving but I cant even reach his car seat to pat him on the head when hes upset.

  • Ultimate family vehicle - 2004 Honda Element

I just purchased my Element, the funny thing is I always like the car but my husband was the last person that I expect to like this car, but it was actually his decision to get it. He loved the look, however what was the best thing about this car is the space and flooring. We have 2 kids so this car is perfect and those of you who know your children they like to eat and make there food go every where and when they drink they make sure the share with everything else. So this car was something that would be easy to clean up after messes and just overall clean. I am very picky about cleaning my cars and what normally takes me 2 to 3 hours to clean my car it takes me only about 30 min to 1hr

  • Best elements of all vehicles - 2003 Honda Element

I really am enjoying my Element DX (FWD) – have 12,000 miles on it! The fuel economy average is about 27 mpg. It has enough power to get the job done and can pass another car OK. Has done well off the beaten path too. I traded my 2002 CR-V for an Element and it handles much better, corners confidently, has a smoother ride, seats have more hip-room (not as comfortable), and feels a lot bigger inside. Can move furniture with great ease; great for car camping. Folding seats work well, though require some strength. It’s a good value, doesnt waste gas and like the looks, I highly recommend it Besides being a reliable Honda, its just FUN to drive!

  • Rock magnet - 2003 Honda Element

I had my element for almost 2 years. I got a lot of comments on how ugly the exterior design was, but it wasnt nearly as boxy as Land Rover, XB or even Hummer in my opinion. The classic min-woody quality is what drew me to it. I was able to fit my 450 lb 63" husband, as well as a 65" friend in the front as well as back seats. I am 53" and had no issues with my height in the vehicle. The large windshield will attrack every rock on the road. I did have to have the drivers seat replaced, due to some of the stitching coming apart, and the track bent.
