Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

The element not so great. - 2007 Honda Element
By Isaias Medina - December 14 - 8:34 pmI bought the gold looking element for its looks and roominess. It looks very different from other SUVs and it has great cargo room capabilities. The car has been very useful in many ways, but I have several issues with it. It has 42k miles and I have replaced both front and rear brakes and still the brakes are working poorly, Im sure it may need additional brakes work. The tire pressure monitoring system stays on all winter, the dealer said it was normal for this car. I have replaced the windshield once, it needs a new set of tires soon, the dashboard makes cracking noises during winter, it may need alignment again. Otherwise the engine and transmission work fine.

Love my TRP - 2006 Honda Element
By Randall - December 9 - 11:33 amHave owned my MT AWD Tango Red Pearl EX-P for one year. Have been camping, moving daughter to and from college, (5-6 hour trip loaded). Lots of local driving on interstate and side roads. Researched it for a while, knew what I wanted and it has been everything I had hoped for. Have 66,000+ on her, had about 48,000 or so when purchased. Oil changes with synthetics, average 24.6 overall driving. I have the better stereo package with subwoofer, have factory 8-disk CD changer, Yakima roof rack, hitch, etc.. my E gets used. These are great vehicles. Wish that Honda would include them more in their advertising campaigns.

Nice Car for the Price - 2010 Honda Element
By Linda - December 1 - 1:55 pmDrove the car from N.C. to N.Y. 16 hours and over 900 miles. Had no problem keeping up with the traffic, plus going up and down the hills with no problem. Gas mileage average 28mpg. Traded my 2007 V-6 Nissan Murano for the Element. It does not have all the bells and whistles as my Murano but the price is right. Love the gas mileage, fun car to drive. Love how you can change the seats around. Very dog friendly. So much room, it has more cargo space then the murano. Also loved listening to the XM radio. Handles well and like how the doors open up for easy access.

My Element - 2005 Honda Element
By SallyV - November 29 - 10:03 pmWhen my husband first suggested it I said, "you mean that ugly box looking thing?" But when I saw it and drove it, I started to change my mind. I guess my favorite feature is the vinyl floor. If anything spills, you can clean it up and it looks as good as new. I love the interior, gas mileage and believe it will be a reliable car since it is a Honda. You can take the head rests off the front seat and lower it to be a recliner/foot rest for the back seat rider. It is like a recliner for the back seat rider. Kids are grown now and it is Wonderful for traveling for us and also roomy when we have others in the car. We love it the most of any car weve owned. :)

Its great!!! - 2003 Honda Element
By mom on the go - November 28 - 10:00 amThis is the most perfect vehicle for me. Im a mother of 2 very active boys ages 11 and 9, and also have 2 dogs. Between the sports and the dogs were always on the go! Its easy to get in and out of, for both kids and dogs! And the best part there is no carpet!!!!! I can just sweep and whipe clean with a wet rag!!! Its better than a mini van!!!

Its been in several states (no small feat in California-- its 6 hours to ANY other state) and seen the whole state! Everyone tells me how ugly my car is-- until they ride in it the first time and then theyre like "its so cool!!"

The Honda E - 2003 Honda Element

Gas prices were starting to empty my pocket fast,I needed something smaller but everything I looked at that was smaller couldnt even hold enough equipment for a small wedding! I found the Element online one day and I knew that if it was big enough inside, Id end up buying one. Im 44 and this is the first car that I can say I love. It has everything I need.

Second Element, Second Car bought new - 2008 Honda Element
By pepsicolacat - November 16 - 5:27 pmI own a 2005 element ex awd which has a four speed automatic. The 2008 ex awd has five speed automatic which gets better gas mileage than a five speed manual. I average 20-21 on the 05 if I drive 80 to 85mph on the freeway. I averaged 24mph on a all freeway trip averaging 90mph driving from Columbus to Dayton.
