  • Great Car - 2002 Honda Civic

Ive had my 2002 Civic for 3,000 miles and absolutely love it. I went from a 96 minivan to this and wow what a difference. Obvious improvements in gas mileage and reliability; I dont why I stuck with the van for so long. 5 speeds got plenty of kick. A little problem with misc. rattles on right door and windshield visor. Plenty of room for transportation in back seat and a surprisingly large trunk.

  • Civic- reliable, good mpg, bland styling - 2002 Honda Civic

I have had my Civic for nearly a year and this car runs like it is still brand new. The manual is much more fun to drive than the automatic, and of course, could use a bit more pick up. But how can I complain when I average 34-36 MPGs in the Washington, D.C. area? I opted for the silver coupe with side air bags, security system (insurance discounts on both), fog lights, spoiler, 6-spoke wheels, and sunroof visor(not neccessary). This car was great in the snow with the OEM tires. Did not get stuck once. Overall when you buy a Honda you know what youre getting a reliable, practical car at a decent price.

I just bought the car, I have had it a week and there is a vibrating noise in the front end when taking off or going up a hill. The dome light is bad and the fuel gauge is not working properly, the sensor is being replaced in a few days. The breaks are making a scrubbing noise. All of this has been brought up to the dealership they say all is normal but the fuel sensor and dome light! So to have this car for only a week and all these things to be wrong, thats not good. I thought Hondas were reliable and wonderful cars! It didnt come with a CD player and the windows you have to manually roll them up, I am lazy.

  • Good Car - Not Perfect - 2002 Honda Civic

Drive train and suspension are rock solid after 135K miles. Great gas mileage. Would buy another, but cant say the car is total nirvana. Had little things go wrong, fuel sender and interior light switch malfunctions at 40K and more usual stuff fail later on, but overall a decent little car.

  • Perfect for a 1st time driver - 2002 Honda Civic

I bought this car approx. 3 months after I got my license almost 3 1/2 years ago, and I was smitten when I got behind the wheel. If your a 1st time driver, or a person who just wants a car to drive, and isnt concerned with "fun" driving this car is 100% perfect for you. But for myself, now I want more power, and huge fun factor when Im driving, so off to the 08 G35x

Civic you were not the best looking, fastest or not even that exciting, but you were dependable and you gave me a lot of miles off one tank of gas. You had to be pushed up even the small hills and the road and wind noise a nuisance, but you made every trip just fine. Your sound system was just there and comfort could have been better, but I still loved you and miss you to this day. But alas I will try something new and more exciting in the near future even though I will never forget you... the one who I could count on to cheerfully start each morning no matter what abuse I dished out.

  • Very impressed - 2002 Honda Civic

I purchased my civic w/ 105k miles and have put 50k miles on it since. I love it. It handles very well in the snow (we get lots in MI), and gets great mileage (an average of 32 city & hwy). Its been very reliable. It blows my mind that it has 155k miles on it and it still drives like its new. Plus, I put 12 gallons of gas in it and it takes me 400 miles.

I got this car brand new. Nothing bad except for my older brother tearing up the clutch after only 40,000 miles, but thats his fault not the car. This is car has so much potential no one knows about or understands. A lot of people think the civic is another foreign car thats saves gas. Did you know most of the parts on the civic are made in the US than there are on a cavalier? I dont think an American counterpart can compare to this vehicle. It may not be twin turbo-ed, or have a supercharger, but the VTEC can get the car to keep up with many others out there.

Fun to drive. Terrible on uphill freeway entrance. If you drive fast watch the tranny fluid level it burns up FAST!! thats $3500 i wish i didnt have to spend Honda said "Its not a Race Car" when they replaced the tranny!! Got squished between 2 cars on the freeway and now the tailpipe drags on big bumps. Watch that front bummper youll lose it in a big DIP. Shes been broken into TWICE !

This is a sweet little car to drive and very economical at the current price of gasoline. I have a used home pump which fills the tank overnight. My price per gallon equivalent at home is about $1.53 per gallon equivalent. Because the fuel is so clean, oil changes at 10,000 mile intervals could probably be delayed further. I have had essentially no major problems with the car. It has saved me a really large amount of money--especially now that gasoline is going for $4.72.
