2002 2dr EX manual - 2002 Honda Civic
By brend - April 11 - 10:00 amThis is my 3rd Honda civic. I keep buying them because they have great resale values and they are reliable. This 2002 model is giving me 40 mpg nearly every tank and it feels like it has more power than the 99 I traded in for it, despite identical horsepower ratings.

I love my honda civic, but - 2002 Honda Civic
By joanjean - April 9 - 10:00 amI love my honda civic, but Since I bought it new in 2002 i have haad a few problems with it. At my 15000 miles check they had to change the strut. At 29000 they had to put in a new altinator. My defogger does not work well and who knows what else will begin to happen after the warranty runs out in a few months I have 33000 miles on it so 3000 to go I hope it last nice car but not as well built as I thought

kansas city rock hopper - 2002 Honda Civic
By rock hopper - March 1 - 2:00 amThe front struts on this car went out with in 5000 miles. Dealer advise-- "you will be paying for them soon enough your self" A/C system not adequate on a hot day. FM/AM have different sound levels. Oil filter hard to get to. AT transmission down shifts too fast when cruse control is on. Sun roof rattles. Paint job is flakey and weak. Sheet metal dents if you look at it sideways.

not that bad for a little car - 2002 Honda Civic
By CommuterMan - February 21 - 7:43 pmI prefer larger cars, but living in the city and wanting something fuel efficient led us to get this Civic. After getting rid of the stock Firestones, this car is reasonably comfortable driving around town, has enough room to drop off the kids at school, and isnt embarrassing parked next to my boss Mercedes. My gas mileage isnt as good as I expected, averaging 22 mpg, mainly because I have a short daily commute across town. However, on long drives to my in-laws, this baby get almost 40 mpg.

More fun than I thought - 2002 Honda Civic
By SanFranDan - February 19 - 10:00 amWe wanted an easy to park, easy to drive, easy to maintain, clean, efficient car. The Civic delivered with flying colors. It handles really well on curvy roads, too.

You Cant Go Wrong - 2002 Honda Civic
By MW757 - February 16 - 2:00 amIve owned the car since October and got a excellent deal as the 2003 models were coming in. I love the reliability and build quality from Honda. Its fun to drive and it looks great. I went for Honda 5-spoke alloy wheels and the EX really looks sporty. I fell in love with the car after a friend bought a HX model. My EX has been great on gas mileage about 34 mpg. You really cant go wrong with a Civic. The sedans are nice too.

Some good, some bad - 2002 Honda Civic
By scott_d - January 13 - 10:00 amIn the 13,000 miles that I have owned this car, it used an average of 1 quart of oil every 600 miles. In addition to the oil issue, there is an annoying clacking noise in the A- Pillar that Honda says is the moonroof drain tube hitting metal, but after 28 visits to the dealership to fix this and other issues, it remains. The emergency brake does not hold on hills and needs to be adjusted every 1000 miles. I have seen these same issues from others, so beware of them and ask about these issues if you are looking to buy one. I had great hopes for this car, my first new car purchase, and have been pretty dissapointed. It looks great on paper...
