Honda Civic 2002 - 2002 Honda Civic
By Pipo - August 31 - 10:42 amOverall, its OK. However, after 100k miles, the transmission broke down. Without any warning. I dont know why. Price of parts are too expensive.

5 year old Honda review - 2002 Honda Civic
By Croismoi - August 17 - 8:44 pmMy car is 5 years old. It has 24K miles on it and makes a weird squeaking noise when I drive it slowly. Lately it has not been starting on the first try. I took it to the dealer and they could not determine what the cause was. I am now just waiting for the 2008 Nissans or Camrys to come out. My dealership now wants to charge a $99 diagnostic fee. Whether they find the problem or not. The fact that there seems to be an electrical short that might make me stranded somewhere really bothers me. Im very disappointed in Honda quality and the dealership.

HONDA CIVIC? THINK AGAIN! - 2002 Honda Civic
By RANDY1223453532 - February 17 - 10:00 amA FEW MONTHS AGO I PURCHASED A 2002 HONDA CIVIC EX (2 DOOR COUPE). THIS IS PROBABLY THE BIGGEST MISTAKE I HAVE BEEN AS FAR AS AUTOMOBILE PURCHASING GOES. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN THE SHOP TWICE BECAUSE IT JUST RANDOMLY DOES NOT START (MIND YOU THIS CAR HAS 3000 MILES, AND IS UNDER 3 MONTHS OLD). NOT TO MENTION I HAVE DRIVE GOLF CARTS WITH MORE PICK UP THAN THIS THING. ANOTHER NEGATIVE THING I HAVE NOTICED IS THAT WHEN YOU SHIFT FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE IT LIKE ALMOST FEELS LIKE IT JUMPS OR THE TRANSMISSION JERKS OR SOMETHING.

2002 Civic Complaint - 2002 Honda Civic
By Judith Tillmon - October 24 - 10:36 pmWe did not purchase the extended warranty at time of purchase the reason is I spoke to past customer and did research and I was comfortible with my finding. Current I am very disappointed the clutch has burned out in the tranmission. The mechanic stated this in a common problem with Honda Civic and he currently have two in his shop with the same problem. This seems to be a hardship and Honda need to evaluate this closely.

Struts and Springs over and over Again - 2002 Honda Civic
By Brian Shoots - June 1 - 10:00 amI have been selling new Hondas for several years and have never been disappointed until this 2001 LX sedan. I have had squeaks, creaks, and rattles since day one. I believe all the springs and three of the struts have been replaced to no avail. My first two Hondas were stellar; this one has been dreadful. Gas mileage has hit 40 on extended drives, but hovers around 27 with gentle city driving.

Tan LX - 2002 Honda Civic
By Buttercup - March 21 - 12:42 pmProblems with suspension - wont stay aligned. Problems with computer that dealer cant diagnose... Car is rather underpowered, but gets great gas mileage. Problems with servicing, but this is dealer specific. Went to Honda consumer support with complaint and got no help - sided with dealer (computer problem issue).

Great gas mileage - 2002 Honda Civic
By manny - March 16 - 10:02 pmIts a great car on reliability and gas mileage. I was a little disapointed on the interior. It looks good, but there is a lot of plastic parts on the dash and door panels and after a while they get loose and rattle. It also needs more power, if you have more than two people in the car its really hard to get it going, especally on the freeway.

Hondas May Last Forever, But... - 2002 Honda Civic
By HKI4EVR - January 6 - 6:24 pmI dont know what Honda was thinking when they designed the interior of the Honda Civic. They may run forever, but what is the point if you hate driving it? I have had to replace my stereo twice, my vents vibrate up and down as I drive, when the vents are set to come out at the floor only, I have to shut the rest of my vents to get all the air to come out only at the floor, and now when I push the button to turn on my rear defrost, my radio stations go fuzzy. Not only that, but what brilliant engineer thought that putting cupholders on the other side of the shifter would be a good idea? And what is the point of having an armrest that interferes with the drivers ability to shift?

Dont Believe all the Hype - 2002 Honda Civic
By Gabriel Welch - November 4 - 4:11 pmI purchased my 2002 Honda Civic EX with 148,000 miles from a private seller. It seemed like a good deal at the time but a few weeks after purchase things began going wrong. The handling was non existent. Braking was poor. Suspension was stiff. Technology or lack thereof was unreliable. The ride was extremely uncomfortable. The list goes on. I didnt expect much from a used car with high mileage but this was too much for me. Ive never had so many things inevitably go wrong on a vehicle. Keeping up with regular maintenance just wasnt enough for this thing. Bad tie rods, tie rod ends, timing belt, water pump, brakes, AC, coolant system, head gasket, everything that shouldnt have gone wrong did. The only thing that made driving this car bearable was the amount of money I saved on gas. The Civic truly is a gas saver. Needless to say I sold my Civic with 156,000 miles and bought something newer.
