Overview & Reviews
Honda redesigns its cars and trucks every four to five years, whether they need it or not. For 2001, it's the Honda Civic's turn. Larger inside and out, with more powerful engines but a less sophisticated suspension, coupes and sedans return in familiar DX, LX and EX trims, while HX models come with two doors only. The GX Sedan is powered by natural gas. Unfortunately, the hatchback dies just when Americans are once again figuring out how useful they can be, and the sporty Si goes on hiatus for a year or two.
- Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, reputation for durability, neato CVT transmission, likely to retain a healthy chunk of original value, impressive crash-test scores.
- Si goes bye-bye, gotta get the EX or GX for ABS, vanilla-flavored sedan styling.

HONDA CIVIC LX COUPE - 2001 Honda Civic
By TAYLOR - November 1 - 10:00 amI BOUGHT MY CIVIC WITH 8K MILES, I COULDNT HAVE BOUGHT A BETTER CAR FOR THE PRICE. IT IS THE PERFECT CAR FOR A STUDENT WITH MANY BILLS TO PAY AND NOT MUCH TIME TO DEAL WITH CAR REPAIRS. ALSO, I LOVE THE WAY IT LOOKS...ADORABLE!

Yes!, It is Honda, Civic. - 2001 Honda Civic
By Astra - October 27 - 10:00 amI have Civic Ex for 2 years. It looks beautiful and still people check my car out sometimes.(only has full nose mask and tinned)It is much bigger than it looks inside. Back seat space also fairly enough. Gas mileage is great. Run over 400 miles. 6 speakers Sound system is Nice. ABS is Good to have. However, I have side air bag light turnned on sometimes, so I have to adjust passenger seat. And battery went off when it was 2 months. After recharged it, no longer problem. overall, it is Nice car to drive.

boo hoo - 2001 Honda Civic
By ckc - September 20 - 3:23 pmIts pretty gutless and the clutch has some issues. I have the EX with VTECH For the price I wish it was a little better. Runs great Sunroof button is in a stupid spot and the sunroof doesnt go all the way back. Radio is pretty cheesy for "high quality"

Gotta love this coupe - 2001 Honda Civic
By bigney - September 2 - 2:00 amThis was my first new car. This car has never given us trouble, is a breeze to drive, and we still get compliments on the looks of it even though we havent made any modifications. We get about 34 mpg, which made our trips to Nova Scotia, Niagra Falls, and Florida more affordable.

Great - 2001 Honda Civic
By bagman69 - July 4 - 9:38 pmFrom purchase to the present our Civic has been both a pleasure to drive and a pleasure to maintain. There have been no problems (let alone major ones) in 3 years of driving this car. For drives to our daughters place (4 hour drive through hilly terrain) this car gets 35 to 42 mpg (winter/summer). Every three months I take the car to my Honda dealer for oil changes and recommended service.

Great Student Car - 2001 Honda Civic
By kSpriss - July 4 - 12:10 pmThis is a good first car. I bought it off a family member. Fuel economy is EXCELLENT, highway driving can see upwards of 45 MPG. The engine is weak at low RPMs, and passing power isnt the greatest. This isnt too big a deal for a relatively gentle driver for myself. Steering is EXCELLENT; the car is very nimble and easy to steer, with a very logical and intuitive feel to the wheel. I always feel in control of the car.

Best Car You Can Buy For Your Money - 2001 Honda Civic
By Zambinina - June 22 - 9:08 amI bought my car used with 41,000 miles on it. I have been driving it for less than three years and it now has over 130,000 miles on it. I am a pizza delivery driver and have driven this car to 34 states and it has NEVER broken down on me. I have never done anything to it besides routine maintenance. I can drive it from San Antonio, TX to Houston, TX and back on one tank of gas. I can not stress enough to you how dependable this car is. I will never buy anything that is not a Honda again.
