Overview & Reviews
Honda redesigns its cars and trucks every four to five years, whether they need it or not. For 2001, it's the Honda Civic's turn. Larger inside and out, with more powerful engines but a less sophisticated suspension, coupes and sedans return in familiar DX, LX and EX trims, while HX models come with two doors only. The GX Sedan is powered by natural gas. Unfortunately, the hatchback dies just when Americans are once again figuring out how useful they can be, and the sporty Si goes on hiatus for a year or two.
- Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, reputation for durability, neato CVT transmission, likely to retain a healthy chunk of original value, impressive crash-test scores.
- Si goes bye-bye, gotta get the EX or GX for ABS, vanilla-flavored sedan styling.

A year of research paid off!!!!! - 2001 Honda Civic
By Raptorsfan - August 11 - 2:00 amI did well over a year of research before I made my purchase. Well it has all paid off in the end. I purchased the Civic Si(Canada) and have 65,000 km on it so far. The only times itÂ’s been in the dealership is for scheduled maintenance. I have dealt with 4 different dealerships and all customer service was outstanding. I cant say enough good things about this car. The ride is comfortable (even at the end of a 16 hr drive); it gets great gas mileage (average 45mpg HWY and 35+ CTY) and has great styling. Honda has hit a home run with this car. It has good pick up and go but I would like to see a lot more HP and torque.

Working Woman - 2001 Honda Civic
By cashort - March 11 - 10:00 amI am a working woman, driving from Avon to downtown and back at least once a day. My Civic coupe is a joy to drive everyday. It makes being in the car fun! It handles wonderfully both on the highway and in heavy stop- and-go traffic downtown. It usually gets 35 miles to a gallon. Ive had it almost a year and its still as gorgeous as the day I bought it. It has never once give me a problem of any sort. It is roomy, sleek, and sexy. I have owned many cars and it is my favorite.

Comfortable, roomy, sharp handling, efficient with gas and repairs.RETAINS ITS VALUE! I have a 96 civic LX with over 200K and still going with only replacing the battery and tires. Civic Minded - 2001 Honda Civic
By Clickaholic - October 28 - 8:50 amPros: Reliability, resale value, build quality, service intervals, ergos, great 5-speed, gas mileage, longevity potential, ULEV status, design, interior room, safety rating, trunk size, proven engine, comfy seats, aftermarket potential and fun-to-drive factor. Cons: No passenger side power lock switch, rear suspension bounciness, highly reflective rear glass, no ABS, rear drums, premature low fuel gauge warning, overly thin sheet metal, non venting rear windows.

Excellent vehicle in its class. - 2001 Honda Civic
By pato - March 24 - 2:00 amGreat fuel efficiency, clean engine, a basic instrument panel and performance and reliability never matched by any American-designed subcompact or compact class cars. Over 35K with no major repairs (except for brakes and regular maintenance).
