Dont buy a honda - 2006 Honda CR-V
By jose - July 30 - 4:28 pmI currently have over 116k on my cr-v if you want high maintenance costs, buy it. Example: 18 months battery replaced. 40k new brakes 35k new tires. Change spark plugs every 30k. Driver side window cable broke 3 weeks ago. 40k transmission shutters at low speeds 5 trips to different dealers. Finally, problem is diagnosed. Now waiting for last 5 hours to find out if extended warranty will cover repairs. I bought this cute little lemon new. Had a corolla and drove it for 180k for 12 years, once I had to change the alternator, brakes 85k front 110 rears. Also have a Highlander with 95k that gets better gas mileage than this car, I will never buy another Honda.

Not bad, could be worse - 2006 Honda CR-V
By Lia - June 4 - 12:14 pmCons: Within the 1st 6 months, I had to return it to the dealer to fix the ball bearings? in the back of the car. It came loose, I was told. Paint job is crappy and I got it detailed 2 months after buying it - to try to protect its color. I basically hwy drive. To keep the gas needle from jumping, I use cruise control ALL the time. Even as low as 30 mph. Driving at 25 mph on certain roads will use more gas. Within 2 yrs, it lost its pick up when accelerating. It hesitates when changing gears.

So loud!!! - 2006 Honda CR-V
By Anon - February 5 - 1:50 pmThis car needs less than a 4/10 rating for "quietness". When you drive down the highway, you expect to be able to still hear your passengers talking. Instead, you have to yell to have a conversation. Forget about being able to listen to music while driving on the highway. Frequent rest stops are needed on travels because the seats are so uncomfortable. This is not a vehicle meant for hwy driving, thats for sure.

2006 Honda CR-V - 2006 Honda CR-V
By J. Maschler - October 12 - 4:30 pmWe have owned Hondas since 1976. This (2006 CRV) is by far the worst one. It drives like a truck without a suspension. Poor gas mileage (22 mpg) and very noisy. Very restricted leg room.

Stay AWAY from GEN2 CRV - 2006 Honda CR-V
By UNICS33 - August 20 - 8:02 amIt is soo LOUD, no sound proofing at all. Suspension is very stiff, almost the feeling of riding a buggy...my 3 yo cant even fall asleep, thats how loud and rough ride is. GAS mileage is bad too, averaging 22-23 on normal driving conditions. Car is too heavy for 4 cyl and drag factor is too high. My other Buick Regal is averaging 22mpg and comfort is stellar. Bought it almost new (12K mi) but I sold it in a year because it was very uncomfortable and LOUD, esp. with a little one inside. You feel every little irregularity in the pavement, struts are like filled with steel bars not gas, road noise and engine noise are impressively high. Dont trust the word of mouth. Im very disappointed.

Truck like ride - 2006 Honda CR-V
By R. Neal - July 24 - 3:45 pmMost everything on the vehicle will get a passing grade, except for the ride. On the highway road noise is very loud and on back roads the ride is downright harsh and uncomfortable. Typical of stiff suspension and short wheel base vehicles. I am also disappointed in the gas mileage. I would have thought a four cylinder engine would get more than 20mpg highway. You get what you pay for, I guess. I would not buy another one.

Worst vehicle ever owned - 2006 Honda CR-V
By nashcbr929 - June 28 - 9:49 amI hate this car, I traded my f-150 supercrew 5.4 for this CR-V because my wife wanted something smaller w/better gas mileage. My truck got 13.5 everywhere, and this CR-V gets about 14 in town, and I completely baby this thing. I keep it under 2000 rpms everywhere in town and still get 14 mpg. It doesnt lock the doors automatically in drive, no auto headlights, terrible ergonomics in the seats and driving position. The only thing positive I have to say about it is that it has light steering and handles decent.

The seats are stiff and uncomfortable - 2006 Honda CR-V
By Sus - June 15 - 12:21 amI traded down from a Honda Pilot with leather seats. I rode in the back seat of the CRV for the first time after owning the car for 8 months. Not enough leg room, horrible head rests, stiff seats- we cancelled our vacation plans.

not user friendly interior - 2006 Honda CR-V
By Leonard - September 13 - 4:09 amProblems, arm rest are too small, need to be 2/3in wider,no lights on steering wheel controlds(radio, cruse, control) radio station and clock time numbers are too hard to see, not enough "trinket" storage. Other than that its "ok"
