crv - 1999 Honda CR-V
By mack - September 20 - 1:40 pmIt was a great SUV. Enjoying going fishing, hunting, camping, and road trips with it. But any crv from year 1996 to 2000 has recall on ignition/electrical problem. My 99 crv die on me a few times when i was driving, everything shut down, hard to steer the wheel, brake padel was hard to press on. Any automatic AWD transmission has problem . AWD transmission cost from $750 to $1200. FWS transmission is about half the price. Most older model 4WD crv being sold on craigslist had transmission problem.

Last Honda?? - 1999 Honda CR-V
By John Anonymoose - January 5 - 5:25 pmPerformance and fuel mileage with the engine/automatic transmission are sub par. At 68,000 miles the cylinder head needs to be replaced, according to the dealer, who will pay for the parts, but refuses to pay for the labor, estimated at over $1200. I have owned Hondas since 1978, but the dealer and American Hondas unwillingness to accept responsibility for this very common problem will terminate this relationship.

1999 Honda CRV LX - 1999 Honda CR-V
By Crackatonic - June 28 - 2:00 amThis car just flat stopped working around 36000 miles. The engine would die while driving or in idle. The dealer could not determine why. The steering wheel was at an odd angle that fatigued the wrists and hands. The door locks and rear door functionality were poor. The electric windows wore out and had issues (screeching/squeaking) within 30k miles. Tires have poor traction. I would not recommend this one.

Mixed thoughts on my CR-V - 1999 Honda CR-V
By boxerlover - October 9 - 2:00 amI have had my 1999 LX CR-V for 8 mths now. No problems yet, great gas mi. for a so called "SUV". It was cheaply made on the inside, seats are horribly hard for my 2-3hr per day commute. If you have dogs the back is poorly thought out, no pop out windows for air. Sound system stinks. Control pannels poorly placed. I am yound and feel like an old timer driving this car it seems too much like a wagon and kick myself for not spending the extra money for the Toyota 4Runner which is so much more plush all around. If you want a cheaper (cost wise)SUV you WILL wind up with everything "CHEAPER!"
