  • returnng to Honda CR-V quality - 2016 Honda CR-V

Getting an internet quote gave us the best deal because the CR-V is rarely discounted. We bought the Touring model specifically for the extra features, particularly the sensing package, which, now that we understand them better are terrific. The touch screen on Navigation has some "buttons" too small for my fingers. Most of the touchscreen is easy to navigate especially for us over 70. Fuel economy is just as advertised and a big improvement from our previous 2 Chevy Equinoxs. The variable transmission sounds strange at first but sure does make acceleration snappy. Noise levels are quite good. We have not experienced the aforementioned vibrations. Plenty of head and people room! So far we love it! Side note: We shopped 3 dealers and in all cases the salespeoples knowledge of the newer features was not very accurate.

Very disappointed that they changed interior of 2016. Loved my 2013. I miss arm rest on driver seat and storage space between seats.

So far loving my new car. Did not get the leather upgrade and no navigation, the downside is does not have Sirius Radio without that package. Handles nice and so far not sorry for the purchase after only 10 days!

  • Great lil SUV for the single lady - 2016 Honda CR-V

I have heard that this car is the number 1 seller to single women. I am 53 years of age and with all the kids out of the house, I now focus on my hobbies which include, camping, fishing, kayaking, surfing and hiking with my medium sized terrier. I traded in my Volvo for this car and had to adjust to a couple of downgrade issues as a result. The stereo basically sucks. Even the Ex-L version which supposedly has an upgraded stereo. Compared to the BOSE system that came standard in my Volvo, this one is just not good. I will echo the sentiment by many others. The ride is pretty loud. It took a bit of time for me to get used to the road noise in the cabin but it really isnt so bad that one cannot get used to it. Other than that, this car beats my Volvo hands down. The AWD and high clearance are a blessing in the rugged outdoors of the PNW. The large cargo space holds all my fishing, camping, surfing and kayaking gear and even my bike. I have used it to tow lightweight kayak trailers and it behaves great. The right side mirror camera is an amazing feature. Recently I took this car all the way from Oregon to PA and back again averaging 29ish mpg. The cargo space became a sleeping space and I dubbed it the C.R.V. (compact RV). The most striking thing about this car (selling point for me) is how it handles the roads in any conditions. It handled high winds across the plains and accelerated quickly enough to pass even on the 80 mph freeways in the midwest and the AWD kicks in on snow and sand. No problems on that trip. In fact in 22k miles I have not had to spend one cent on anything except oil change. Contrast that to my Volvo where I had easily spent over 1k in repairs by that many miles. For the purchase price and for the peace of mind I have behind the wheel, this car wins all around.

  • Noise - 2016 Honda CR-V
    By -

CONS::: (1) too much noise when riding. you can hear the outside noise from traffic. (2) brakes make a creaking sound. dealership says its normal due to weather. (3) the parking/backup camera is blurred when it rains so you really cant see what is behind you. makes this feature more or less useless. (4) front drivers seat gets uncomfortable if riding for any length of time. (5) CD player setup is kinda "dumb". you have to push the button to raise the display screen to get access to the CD slot. (6) USB ports are inside the center console. hard to utilize. PROS: (1) good gas mileage, we averaged 32mpg on an extended trip. (2) looks good, good lines and style on the body. (3) price was OK.

  • Good Vibrations!!!! (none) - 2016 Honda CR-V

I was very uncertain about purchasing the CRV due to numerous bad reviews about vibrations. Extremely happy with the purchase. No vibrations. It handles well and is getting the mpg as advertised. Lots of gadgets to figure out. The only negative is a subpar navi and poorly designed buttons/controls for the radio/nav system.

  • Stay away from this vehicle at all costs - 2016 Honda CR-V

I had a 2013 Vw Touareg tdi, and it was my wifes decision to buy this vehicle. Worst mistake I ever bought. First off they didnt tell you at the dealership that the vehicle has a special traction control system that automatically works when engaged and almost cost me three accidents because it slams on the brakes then the drivers view on the dashboard goes all nuts. The lights are very distracting on the dashboard and to me can not be turned off. Then the radio setup for blue tooth and radio stations sucks! First off they only give you 10 presets for your Sirius radio which is not good. Especially if you want to hear other things. Functionality of this radio is system is horrible and not very user friendly. Finally the worst thing about this vehicle is the gas consumption. I feel like Im only 200 miles a week but I had to fill the truck up three times. Im not impressed if it wasnt for my wife I would never buy this vehicle! Just because its made from Honda doesnt mean its a great car. As soon as I can I will get another Vw and stay away from Honda products! Dont waste your money! Get a nicer sub with better gas Mileage.

  • Terrible suspension - 2016 Honda CR-V

I have had Nissan, Toyota before. Honda seemed to be the worst so far. After about 25K, the tires wore to 3/8 and needs to be changed. No Honda dealer honored any tire waranty. They dont want to pay for it. Their electric system may have some problems too. I am talking about hundreds or thousands of dollars from year two and on. Go buy Toyota or Nissan

  • Goldilocks SUV "Just Right" - 2016 Honda CR-V

I am very tall, as are the rest of my family. The CRV has exceptional interior space, plenty of head room and elbow room. Windows in the front provide excellent visibility. Visibility to the sides and rear are limited due to the small windows. I dont like Hondas change to the new "squashed" version of its SUV line (Pilot, CRV, HRV). However, the "Lane Watch" and rear view cameras do seem to adequately compensate for the limited visibility out the side and rear windows. Personally I would prefer bigger windows. That being said, I do love my new car. I was originally going to purchase the LX base model, but the interior felt really light and fragile. The upholstery looked like it would stain and tear easily. I went with the EXL which is perfect. The car handles well, and gas mileage is good. I previously owned a Fit, which I absolutely loved, but I needed AWD for snow and mountain roads. I then bought a Pilot, which I also loved, but it was way too big for my needs, cumbersome to maneuver, and expensive for maintenance. The CRV is "just right" halfway between the two.

  • Love it! - 2016 Honda CR-V

I have owned a 2010, 2014 and now the 2016 CR-V. The 2016 is the best yet! There are plenty of higher cost options, roomier SUVs but when considering my needs, value and total cost of ownership, this is an excellent vehicle. Very open at rear access allows hauling of many larger items. Would like the option for another engine but I am in flat terrain and the 4 cylinder is pretty peppy and meets my needs. Solid, quality and great re-sale value.
