  Careful design makes it a delight to drive and own. Quality is top flight. Gas mileage could be better.

  I did a lot of research before choosing the CR-V. I was most concerned about reliability, value, and maintenance. Looks arent much of an issue when youre stuck in a snow drift. So far, Ive been very happy with it. My previous vehicle was a 95 Windstar and I was never so happy as to dump that puppy. The CR-V doesnt have as much room as a mini-van, but now Im not asked to tote the entire soccer team everywhere either. :-)

  For me its the perfect vehicle: Sit high & comfortable without needing a ladder to get in, fit in normal sizes parking spaces, get 23 mpg & smile when filling up next to a totally unnecessary and environmentally unfriendly gargantuan suv, front wheel drive in normal driving and 4 wheel drive when necessary (automatically), 8 inch ground clearance, good cargo room and surprisingly roomy passanger room, excellent fit and finish and reliability youd expect from Honda.

  My 2000 CR-V is not flashy or the most powerful car out there, but it has gotten the job done for 17 years and counting! I drive this to work, camping, coaching, off road (not too rough), highway, country, short trips, long road trips (longest is around 1,000 miles, round trip). It has hauled kids, soccer gear, baseball gear, camping supplies and more. I have been good about getting my maintenance from Honda. I have had very few repairs. A couple of major repairs in the last few years, the radiator being the biggest. This has been a dependable car for my family. I will be sad when it can finally go no more. The turn radius is crappy and it isnt the zippiest car on the road, but I would buy another 2000 CR-V in a heartbeat. That wont happen, its day is done, but I will at least look at the current model CR-V when this does finally die.
