96 Metro - 1996 Geo Metro
By Luke - February 15 - 1:34 pmI bought this car with about 80,000 mi. on it just over two years ago. I now have reached 100,000 mi. and havent found much to complain about. Havent found much to brag about either. The car has been for the most part quite reliable. The car is a four cylinder with a three speed automatic. I was unpleasantly surprised when I found out I was only getting 30 mpg at best. I think the poor gas mileage is due to the three speed auto tranny. A four speed auto would greatly increase mpg. The only other complaints I have is the small size. I am only 510" and I look and feel like a giant in the car. The car is also extremely vunerable to rust. I have seen cars from the 80s with less rust than my car

a pretty good small car - 1997 Geo Metro
By ncdamsel - March 12 - 2:00 amthe seats in this car killed my back, but other than that it was cheap to keep . so that is allways a good thing cheap tires, low payment, the only complaint was not comfortable to drive on long trips,

85,000 miles and still going - 1995 Geo Metro
By gkari - December 10 - 2:00 amA great car for basic transportation. Inexpensive to own, low on insurance, fuel, and maintenance. Handles fine on slick roads.I have had nothing major go wrong in 3 years of driving it! As the smallest on the road, Im not convinced the airbags or seatbelts will save lives. Ive been looking into getting a safer car, but I am fearful that it wont be as dependable or efficient.

The Metro, cheap crap - 1993 Geo Metro
By Mac Daddy - July 19 - 2:00 amMy sister wanted me to get this car because it was as cute as a button. But remember cute things could be crap, such as the Geo Metro. At 5,000 miles I bent the ront axle going over a speed- bump. One day when Iclose the door the window fell out of the car.

I hate this car - 1993 Geo Metro
By ct - May 22 - 2:00 amIncredible noisy not enough power and not reliable. Maintanance always cost a fortune because of the ineffiecient way the car was put together.

Geo Metro - 1991 Geo Metro
By Harry Penrod - May 2 - 2:00 amI really, to be honest, did not like this vehicle. Everything about it stinks and I wish I never bought it. The only thing that could be good about it is if it died in a crash.

beware the geo engine! - 1994 Geo Metro
By carshoppin - March 16 - 2:44 amWhen it started losing power and developed a pinging sound, I was informed by several salvage yards and mechanics that the geo 3 cyl (ALL years) is prone to "dropping cylinders." Sure enough, a compression check confirmed my 3cyl is now a barely running 2 cyl car. New rebuilt engine is $1600, with a 600 core charge, and they wont take the old one for core after the piston drops (as the engine will freeze up). This is the 2nd engine for the vehicle, previous owner replaced orig. engine with one from junkyard for same reason before we bought from him. 157k and went through 2 engines.....hmmmmmm.
