I like it - 1996 Geo Metro
By ilikeit - June 12 - 5:39 pmI drive 26 miles one way to work and bought the little thing at almost a steal! With 99800 miles on it, looked good, very simple, well maintained by the previous owner, almost like new! I bought the little scamp for fuel mileage, and didnÂ’t expect much, but itÂ’s the best car IÂ’ve bought in a long time! So far I figure it gets an honest 46 mpg (mostly highway)! IÂ’m impressed, with one exception... hills. Eh, I can live with that for the fuel economy though! I plan to see how long this thing will last, 250000 miles? I donÂ’t see why not! Regular maintenance, a set of vent visors, and a cup holder is all it should need! Too bad they donÂ’t build em like this anymore! Guess it was too good to last!

1995 Geo Metro STD Hatchback - 1995 Geo Metro
By Rick in TN - June 2 - 12:25 pmThis car is just awesome! 175,800 miles and still kickin! A bit worn, but reliable as the day it was bought. Needs axles at the moment but its still on the originals. Maintenance has been excellent. New clutch in 2003 and just scheduled maintenance in between. Doesnt get there fast, but you will get there. Ride is stiff, but drives like a go cart. Just point it and it goes where you want. This car has been on the interstate, city streets and in the woods where only a goat would go. May not handle it with grace, but gets the job done. My hat is off to Suzuki for building such a tough little car! By the way the engine is original and never been torn down. Still getting 40-42 mpg.

It keeps on going - 1994 Geo Metro
By energizer geo - April 15 - 9:08 amIve owned this car since new and have used and abused it. It just keeps going. Ive kept it well maintained and put on a lot of miles in town and on road trips. I also use it for mountain biking around the Tucson mountains, and it handles rough terrain like a mountain goat. Still averages 38 mpg in town, with the AC running! Overall, Id say it is the best car Ive ever owned. Its got great pick-up with the five-speed, manual transmission.

Outstanding Vehicle - 1991 Geo Metro
By MADDOG - April 2 - 10:32 pmOriginally bought this car for gas mileage and had planned to keep for 3-5 years. I figured it was more of a throw away car to be used no longer than the 100,000 mile mark. Ten years later and 135,000 miles I am ready to restore this vehicle because it has been one of the most reliable vehicle I have owned in the last 15 years.

How great is this car - 1992 Geo Metro
By Bob Hardison - March 27 - 9:37 pmThis car has been the best car that I have ever owned. It is a 1992 model that I bought in Oct. 1991. Today it is Mar. 2007 and I have 206,000 miles on it and it uses no oil between changes and the only repair that I have had is a starter motor that went bad after 150,000 miles. I will never sell this car at any price. I get 47 MPG and the 12 in. tires only cost about $100.00 for all four, and it will cruise on the interstate at any speed you want it-even up to 100mph. I usually drive it there at about 75mph.

96 Metro - 1996 Geo Metro
By Luke - February 15 - 1:34 pmI bought this car with about 80,000 mi. on it just over two years ago. I now have reached 100,000 mi. and havent found much to complain about. Havent found much to brag about either. The car has been for the most part quite reliable. The car is a four cylinder with a three speed automatic. I was unpleasantly surprised when I found out I was only getting 30 mpg at best. I think the poor gas mileage is due to the three speed auto tranny. A four speed auto would greatly increase mpg. The only other complaints I have is the small size. I am only 510" and I look and feel like a giant in the car. The car is also extremely vunerable to rust. I have seen cars from the 80s with less rust than my car

Lasts Long - 1990 Geo Metro
By Bill - February 13 - 10:39 pmIt has been 16 years since I had bought my Metro when it was new and it had nearly 600,000 miles. I have gone through 4 clutches, 2 front subframes, and 1 floorboard, which I replaced because it caved in last month on I-10. I had it dynoed 3 months ago and it made 21 hp, pretty good for such a high mileage car. Unfortunately, last week I parked it too close to the dump trucks at the quarry and I ran over it. That was when I discovered it was saturated with rust. Overall, it was a great car.

Ive loved this car! - 1997 Geo Metro
By Amy B - October 23 - 2:54 pmThis is the 2nd Geo Metro (Chevy Sprint) Ive driven to over 200,000 miles. Ive only had to do routine maintenance and this car is still running on many of the original parts, including engine and clutch. Still gets over 44 mpg. It might be the fastest or most stylish car on the road but Id buy another in a heartbeat if they were still making them. Its ridiculous to have pay over $20,000 to get a new car that equals the fuel efficiency of this old one. Whats wrong with this picture?

Red - 1993 Geo Metro
By 1993 Geo Metro Conve - October 4 - 12:04 pmI just bought this car and love it. It runs well, a little slow up hills. The air conditioner needs to be fixed, but no rust, body in great & clean condition. I have had this for 1 week and so far so good. It is cute, sporty and fun. Needs a new back window, and the motor makes a little noise. But runs great.

This Pre Hybrid is Worth It! - 1994 Geo Metro
By geometrosrok - May 1 - 1:14 pmMy Metro has been VERY dependable. The 3 speed automatic is peppy enough to be able to pull out in traffic with no worries. Rather easy to work on. Parts are not hard to find. Heater is HOT in the winter and warms quickly. Interior noise level is a little high on the freeway due to lack of insulation / thin metal. Has issues with rusting on the door edges and the lower control arm mounts. Ideal in-town vehicle. Overall, the car is easy to drive, easy to fix, and worth it for the great gas mileage.
