Go Geo - 1996 Geo Metro
By Geogo - December 10 - 3:59 pmI have owned the car for 2 years and have put over 115K miles on it.. I have replaced nothing, and beat and abused this car and it wont break. Everything works, looks decent. Gets about 35mpg, costs $8 to fill up right now with gas being $1.75. I have changed the oil about once every 10-15K miles and it never uses any oil. Starts every time.

$ for $ best car ever built - 1994 Geo Metro
By dave - September 22 - 11:29 amThis was my second car as my previous and first car (a catty cimeron) couldnt handle my type of driving (it blew up). I have driven this car extremely hard, i.e., heavy acceleration, severe weather, and been involved in several minor to medium accidents. This car never broke, always started and drove reliably anywhere I wanted to go. Always got 44+mpg. I got 55 mpg on a long trip. This car did a great job accelerating and cruising on interstate at 75 to 80 mph. My only regret is how poorly I treated this car for 15 years and although mechanically its still great, the body and other things I inflicted on the vehicle are making me think its time to move on. Im sad.

95 Metro - A real work horse - 1995 Geo Metro
By Joe Porter - September 18 - 12:11 amI purchased my 95 Geo second hand from the dealer. The car was first sold in 3/96 and I purchased it about a year later. I think that the purple color had something to do with the slow sale. It never got the 49MPG that the five speed 3 cylinder was supposed to get but with air on I got 38 MPG regularly. I have had the clutch replaced and one set of tires replaced. I just had it repainted this week and I am planning to drive it for another 130,000 miles. I drove it from San Diego CA to Riverside CA every day for five years and it never caused me any problem.(150 miles round trip-70+MPH) I can recommend this car to anyone provided it has been maintained per the manual - great car.

living within your means - 1992 Geo Metro
By livin large life - September 10 - 8:55 amThis is the best vehicle I have ever owned. They quit making this car because it was to economical and reliable. 16 years and 230,000 miles with less than 200 dollars in parts, that is what I call having your cake and eating it too. I only wish that I could buy a new one today. This is my primary vehicle, which I own several new ones that cannot compare all around.

Best car Ive ever owned - 1992 Geo Metro
By Robert D. Hardison - July 9 - 9:39 pmI bought this Geo Metro new, and I have 210,000 miles on it. It uses no oil between 3,000 mile changes. The only repairs Ive had are 3 timing belts (the old ones looked like new) I did this myself, one starter after 195,000 miles, one distributer sensor. My first timing belt cost $9.97, last one cost $19.97, -no other repairs. My gasoline mileage is tops 61 MPG, low 41 mpg (town only). I have a new Nissan 6 cyl Nissan Altima, but I will never sell my Geo Metro, as I use it 90% of the time.

MY GEO - 1993 Geo Metro
By RICKJOAN - May 25 - 7:25 pmBought this car from my boss and it had just turned 100,000 mi. I am an auto mechanic for over 40 years experience. When i first go the car it was hard to get used the the engine vibration. It was a peppy little car. I ended up going to Michigan twice and both times checked the gas mileage coming back and could not believe the gas mileage i got. At 70 mph with a/c on i averaged 51 to 56 miles per gallon. Around town i averaged 48 to 50. Have has almost no maintenance just water pump, timing belt.

So Far So Good - 1996 Geo Metro
By TSchneider - May 24 - 8:24 amBought the car in 04 w/ 110k on it for $1100. I now have 202k on it. I get 35-40 mpg hwy at 65 and 32 overall. MPG would be better with a stick. Replaced entire exhaust in 05 ($700). At 131k rebuilt camshaft and replaced timing belt and water pump. About a month ago I had water pump and timing belt done again ($700)w/ 200k on it. A/C and Heater blower no longer work. Brakes have been done twice ($300) per visit. Tires are $200 per set! Car still runs very smoothly and gets me anywhere I want to go.

1993 geo metro lsi sprint cl - 1993 Geo Metro
By fushiadragon - May 15 - 6:08 pmI found this car in Hallam Pa, only one owner, when I bought it it only had 063,851 miles on the odometer, I paid 2000.00 cash, going rate now is 3500.00 if you can find one. She had to sell it due to having a baby and needed a bigger car for her family. The gas prices are now 3.75 a gallon, I only pay 25.00 to fill her up and get 50 mpg, and I love putting the top down on warm days, the car is fun and special to me as there isnt any other around like it, it is pink in color with painted flaring on the sides of the car, shes sporty enough for my daily needs. Small but feisty! Fushiadragon

1997 geo metro - 1997 Geo Metro
By faccipazzo - May 13 - 12:47 amThis is a good car, if, youre fortunate enough not to get a lemon. It seems that the geo is an extremely good or extremely poor purchase. If you have one, heres some advice: Dont dog it, its all about using your gears, I climbed Mt. Ashland at 75 mph, since its a roller skate, the trick is momentum.

Bulletproff - 1994 Geo Metro
By Joe - May 9 - 12:32 pmI bought my 3-cylinder, 5-speed new in "94. In 314,000 miles I have replaced the water pump, radiator and starter. Thats it. The motor is as tight as a drum. Mo leaks or burning. I"m still regularly getting around 42 MPG. Its nothing more than an upholstered tin can, but it sure keeps running.
