  • My Metro, the best car I ever owned. - 1994 Geo Metro
    By -

I bought my Metro new in 94 and loved it right from the start. I like the simplicity of the design, its agile nature, and of course its superb fuel economy and reliability. I never had any major problems with the car in all the years I owned it. I wish I would have kept it though. Its too bad the car went out of production a few years ago. Small economical cars are, in my opinion, under appreciated in America. I am considering buying another one to use as a second car. I would also recomend one to anyone looking for a simple, economical, and fun car to drive. Ill take a geo over these big SUVs any day!

The convertable is fun to drive, especially with the top down. The milage has been about 33 MPG overall, but I do a lot of stop and go. I have had it over a year and it starts every time (ODO says 57,000 but probably 157,000). It is a fair weather car though unless you like to get wet as water works its way over the top of the window glass and on to your lap. It also should be garaged to protect the top. I was told that it would last twice as long if I kept the car garaged.

  • It Runs!? Great! - 1991 Geo Metro

I needed a car and this second-hand Geo was the first one I found that I could afford. I drove it around for eight years and saved up enough money to pay cash for my Jeep Cherokee. Easy to drive around and park in the city and I never once got stuck in the

THERE DEVELOPED A KNOCK IN THE ENGINE AND WHEN WE TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC HE SAID THAT THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. NOTHING COULD BE DONE FOR THE LOUD KNOCK

  • Economic - Not Exquisite - 1997 Geo Metro

In terms of achieving my goal, this car has more than met it. I wanted an interim, inexpensive, small, dependable car I could load my keyboard & amp in & out of with relative ease. For 5 years it’s consistently done the job. Tires, hubcaps, & rear axle have been replaced. After the first year (󈨦) I had no air conditioning because the frion ran out. But the heater works great & the gas hikes haven’t phased me- -I’m still paying less per month than I do for cable TV. It’s a great little car with surprisingly good pick-up, no slowing on hills, easy on the turns, but tough to park without power steering.

  • Excellent car - 1993 Geo Metro

I bought this car 8 years ago, and it now has over 150,000 miles on it. Replaced tires, radiator, and some exhaust parts that rusted, other than that, it has NEVER failed me. Excellent gas mileage & I have a feeling it will rust out under me before the engine dies. The only thing really cheap about it is the parts in the driver side window that break occasionally (had to fix twice)& the plastic molding on the hatchback (the pins fell out & the plastic piece came off)

  • I love cars AND I love my Metro - 1994 Geo Metro

Id call myself a gearhead and yes, I love this Metro. More faithful than a dog, more reliable than any person, all the pep you need (it doesnt weigh anything!) and parkings a breeze. Get this: after nearly a decade and 152K, its mpg STILL beats an off-the-line Toyota Prius! You know, that fancy hybrid electric car! Im looking forward to more cross- country trips. This car loves to run! Remember the old ad, "How can far can your car go on $78 of gas?" Metro goes from CA to NY!

  • Good A to B and B to A car - 1997 Geo Metro

For a 3 cylinder car, it is pretty decent. I want to know when the spark plugs have to be changed. I have about 70,000 clicks on it. Does this car use platinum plugs? I bought this secondhand at about 35,000 km.. I recently changed the air filter on it. Id appreicate any input from similar owners on its upkeep. There is no a/c on mine. I am having a problem with the heating switch that I have to wiggle to make it operate at low speed. I live in Toronto and I need the heat in winter.
