  • Great first time car! - 1994 Geo Metro

My family has had this car for 6 years! Trust me, it has gone through a lot! After being used as a practice car for manual driving by my older sister, it was then passed down to me two years later. This car has helped teach many of my friends and my little brother how to drive clutch. It takes a lickin and keeps on a tickin!

  • Great Car - 1990 Geo Metro

I bought this car with 65,000 miles and drove it back and forth to work. I got great gas mileage and good performance. I was amazed that a 3 cylinder engine could perform so well. It was very reliable all year round. I only had to replace the tires and the wipers and maybe the fan belt. Other than that it was a wonderful car to have.

  • 85,000 miles and still going - 1995 Geo Metro

A great car for basic transportation. Inexpensive to own, low on insurance, fuel, and maintenance. Handles fine on slick roads.I have had nothing major go wrong in 3 years of driving it! As the smallest on the road, Im not convinced the airbags or seatbelts will save lives. Ive been looking into getting a safer car, but I am fearful that it wont be as dependable or efficient.

  • My Metro Rocks - 1992 Geo Metro

I love my metro and it runs well. I have owned it for six years now and have had no major repairs yet. It had 50,000 miles when I bought it, and now has 125,000. Only performed minor repairs (tires, brakes, etc). Gets about 40-45 mpg (will get over 50 on the highway if I go about 55-60 mph, the faster I go, the worse my mileage). Just returned home from a 4,000 mile trip over a 2 week period and had no problems, didnt even worry about breaking down.

  • Maybe better than you would think - 1996 Geo Metro

I have driven this car to the ends of the earth. I can get 15 50 lb. bags of landscape rock in it. A ladder will fit without a passenger. I was hit in it. Scariest experience of my life-- but I am now very careful. Drive definsively and this is a great car. First "wear" repair at 120K, knock on wood. I call her "Lil Pepe." I am about to turn it into a rolling billboard for my new business.

  • whats to complain about - 1997 Geo Metro

as far as inexpensive, bought a 97 in 99 for $4500 4 door automatic/air cond...it gets the mileage and has gone from 32k miles to over 88k without complaints..had to put in $100 for air conditioner charge but other than that i am smiling all the way...so what is there to complain about??? it aint a mercedes, but then again, you aint paying the payment!!!

  • mpg is great - 1992 Geo Metro

This has been a reliable car. I had it for 2.5 years from 116k miles to 165k miles. It always started. Always ran and ran, 400 miles at a time even. The convertible roof leaked only very little from the top of the drivers window. but it wasnt all the time maybe only 20% of the time that it rained. Two other things were troublesome: the exhaust pipe broke 3 times. Install a flex pipe at the bend just under the engine. that helped. and my traction on wet or snowy roads was terrible. buy good good tires. I felt like I was in a saucer sled most of the time. Its just a very light car.

  • My Metro, the best car I ever owned. - 1994 Geo Metro
    By -

I bought my Metro new in 94 and loved it right from the start. I like the simplicity of the design, its agile nature, and of course its superb fuel economy and reliability. I never had any major problems with the car in all the years I owned it. I wish I would have kept it though. Its too bad the car went out of production a few years ago. Small economical cars are, in my opinion, under appreciated in America. I am considering buying another one to use as a second car. I would also recomend one to anyone looking for a simple, economical, and fun car to drive. Ill take a geo over these big SUVs any day!
