  • More Room Front & Rear Than Large Cars - 1994 Geo Metro
    By -

I have kept mileage records from day 1 on this car. It consistently gets over 40 MPG. It uses no oil at 105000 miles. I change oil and filter every 3000 miles and have kept records on all. The only failure I have experienced is a water pump seal at 105000 miles. Im giving this car to my daughter to save her some on gas. I rate this car as the best I have ever owned. Im 66 years old and have owned a lot of cars. I have a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis that has less leg room in the rear than the GEO. The GEO has incredible acceleration with only a 1 liter engine. It astounds me!

Bought this vehivle at the time because I couldnt afford anything more. It turned out to be the best investment I ever made. I have owned it ten years and my record keeping allows me to calculate that it cost me less than 5 cents per mile to operate. Even in its old age it still gets almost 30 miles per gallon. At 158000 miles it is fianlly beginning to use some oil (NOT leakage). Beware, it eats tires - it has apoor ability to maintain alignment. Other than that, it has been a charm. I am finally donating it to a charity - and its still running.

My geo has proven to be an exceptional vehicle for me. Not only do I get fantastic gas milage, but the amount of time that I have to put in for repairs is almost zero. I have owned my geo for about 4 years, and the most money that I have invested in it was for new tires, which are hard to come by b/c they are only 12s. But it handles better on the snow, water, and out in the heat better than any older used car that I have owned. Being a married college student, this car has been a lifesaver in saving me a whole lota dough. Gooseman

  • faithful little car - 1994 Geo Metro

I bought this car new 10 yrs ago as my first vehicle. Ive had some repairs in the last year or two, but overall it has been a great little car and been reliable. Its not the most comfortable during long distances but it is cheap on gas and its small size makes it excellent to drive around town. Its beginning to rust some, but honestly, I hate to get rid of it.

  • One awesome little car - 1996 Geo Metro

I bought my Geo with 40,000 miles on it. I have put 20,000 more on it since. It has required nothing but standard maintenance. All part replacements are remarkably cheap. No matter what kind of driving I am in, I always get AT LEAST 32 miles per gallon, but I usually get more. Its so easy to drive, and a snap to park and make sharp turns such as u-turns.

  • Reliable work car - 1992 Geo Metro

I bought my Geo when it had 35,000 miles, it now has 215,000 miles and is still running strong. I have replaced the water pump once, but nothing else mechanical. The fuel economy is awesome at nearly 60 mgp on the highway. A Geo Metro driver has to be willing to tolerate slow acceleration from the three cylinder engine. It gets no respect from SUV drivers or trucks and driving a GEO can be a bit nerve wracking in heavy stop-and-go traffic. Forget about running the air conditioner in stop-and-go traffic -- too much power drain.

  • Most fuel efficient car...ever? - 1992 Geo Metro

Wonderful little car. I specifically set out to find one of these Metro XFis because of the amazing fuel efficiency (50-55mpg). Actually gets better MPG than the newest hybrids! Not only that, but it actually has a little pep (more than you would think for a tiny 3 cylinder). The car is very spartan, but that should be expected. Its a Metro that has been significantly lightened and all options removed. It is a means of getting from here to there for the least amount of money possible. If youre looking for comfort or performance, then you surely will not be satisfied. It is for frugal misers like myself =D

  • Great little sports car - 1990 Geo Metro

I just passed 185,000 miles and its still going strong. Its a great car to drive down to the beach. Just drop the top and cruise. Its especially nice considering it only takes me 3 bucks in gas to get to the beach and back. Great little mini sports car.
