This Year's Model Updates:

Despite numerous 2003 upgrades, there's not much different on the outside other than optional multifunction mirrors and new machined aluminum wheels for SLT models. Inside, you'll find tri-zone climate controls, an enhanced driver-information center and a redesigned center console and instrument panel. Satellite steering wheel controls are now optional (standard on Denali models) as are second-row captain's chairs. New entertainment options include a Bose audio system, as well as XM Satellite Radio and a DVD-based entertainment system. For increased safety, there are a standard front-passenger sensing system, three-point belts for all second-row passengers, adjustable pedals and an available StabiliTrak stability control system. GMC also upgraded the braking system for better pedal feel and performance and retuned the Autotrac four-wheel-drive system for better efficiency and less binding at low speeds. Finally, Yukons sold in California are fitted with a new catalytic converter that earns the truck ULEV certification.

Pros:
  • Strong engines, roomy and versatile interior, rugged chassis, numerous available amenities.
Cons:
  • Spotty build quality, interior materials could be better.

  • Autoride is amazing! - 2003 GMC Yukon

The Autoride is amazing! Black with 20" makes this a stand-out truck. Easy to operate and park in the city. Feels like your driving on glass, even on the roughest roads. GMC resales better than Ford or Tahoe.

I bought my Yukon brand new. I absolutely fell in love with it the moment I saw it. I knew I had to have it. It rides great, my kids are comfortable, & Im comfortable driving it. The third row comes out, so when we have company from out of state we put the seats in and when its just us we take the seats out. Mileage is good too.

  • Still love it! - 2003 GMC Yukon

I bought my Yukon in 2004. It is now Jan 2008. I bought it as a primary vehicle. There are many things I like about it. 1) That third row seat is awesome. I can drive 6 people very comfortably. 2) It has great acceleration. One obviously cannot compare it to a two seater sports car but for its size, it is very quick... its a truck! 3) Take out the rear seats and my band can get a drum set, two big PA speakers, 2 half stacks, a bass rig, and amps and guitars and still have the passenger seat open for the girl! 4) One word to describe it is practical. I recently bought a lifted Ford F350 4X4 4 door with all the bells and whistles. Was gonna sell the Yukon. I will be selling the Ford.

Have driven through snow, desert, heavy rain and wind - vehicle is everything we thought it would be - dependable, comfortable, roomy, great sound system, power, etc. Gas mileage is not what one can find in crossovers - but this is a true, solid SUV - one of the last with metal bumpers.

Great vehicle. I traded an 02 for the 03 so overall I am very pleased with the quality and fit and finish, as well as the exceptional resale value. As fo driveability (sp?), these big vehicles are suprisingly easy to drive and very easy to enter and exit. Also, the break pedal feels much more "solid" than my 02. All in all a great vehicle.

  • Driven the way you would like to driveit - 2003 GMC Yukon

This is the first brand new truck I have bought, and I would have to say I do love it, I compared the Escalade when buying this truck and found I enjoyed the more firm ride as opposed to the soft swaying ride the escalade offered. It corners nicely considering its a truck it holds the road quite well, I just drove through the 2ft of snow we just had and it was a dream with the stabila trac keeping the truck from quick turns and not allowing the ass end to spin out,

Very comfortable, handles great. love taking it up the mountain to go skiing

  • Yukon smooth ride - 2003 GMC Yukon
    By -

This is the best riding vehicle I have ever owned. It is smooth, and the engine has lots of power. It comes with nice features and a lot of versatility. I really enjoy it. Like many folks, sometimes I wish the mileage was better, but I didnt buy it for the mileage. Nobody buys SUVs for the mileage! Sometimes people seem to forget that point.

Vehicle is nice but is noisy when running without actually driving. Also I have noticed bolts on the bottom of vehicle (axle area) have started rusting after less than two months.
