This Year's Model Updates:

New for 2003, the SEL trim level offers a unique instrument cluster with a satin-finish background, as well as Imola leather trimmed seats and dark wood trim. You can now get a real wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel, and you'll want to note that power windows and locks, as well as tilt steering and floor mats, are standard on all models.

Pros:
  • Excellent value for the money, high level of safety equipment and crash protection, available as a sedan or a wagon.
Cons:
  • Rental car stigma, poor expected resale value, not as refined as most other midsize sedans.

  • Affordable Family Luxury! - 2003 Ford Taurus

I purchased my SEL Premium Taurus in June. It is one of my smarter choices of car purchases that Ive made. I had a 97 Camry that has been very reliable but was too small for my family. The Taurus is far more spacious with a smooth quiet ride and good handling. The Duratec engine is also superb, it has been decently quiet and has proved to have good pasing power. In black with a rear spoiler I feel like the king of the road.

  • Luxury on the cheap - 2003 Ford Taurus

My wife and I decided on the 2003 Taurus SEL w/Leather, wood, adjstble pedals, mnroof, 6-cd console changer, MACH sound, auto climate control, window lock-out, 200-hp v6, 24valve DOHC, ABS, cruise control, side- mirror entry light, keyless entry, theft/perimeter alarm and more. The car is very, very comfortable (coming from an ex-SUV driver, this wasnt hard to find, however), handles very well, gets about 24mpg on the hwy (I speed a lot). The CD changer in the center console makes access a lot easier than in the trunk. The dealer dropped $1200 off retail list and the $500 rebate from Ford plus the 0.0 percent Ford Credit financing for 60 months.

  • Great Car - 2003 Ford Taurus

I love this car. First off, the look of it is what first attracted me. Its dark grey, with a great looking spoiler on the trunk lid and alloy wheels. Overall a great looking vehicle. It has a nice smooth ride, and great handling. Comfortable bucket seats, roomy back seat, sporty floor shifter. Quick, smooth acceleration and shifting. A strong runner, holds its own on the road and good mileage to boot!

  • Great car, awesome value. - 2003 Ford Taurus

First of all I bought this car with 42,000 miles and drive it everywhere and don’t drive it nice. I have 144,000 on my Taurus now and it drives like new. I service it and it keeps running. My wife’s Honda Accord has seen the shop endless times with 33,000 on it. Buy American, better cars, better value, more comfortable and theyre all worth the same in 10 years.

  • Best Value on the Market - 2003 Ford Taurus

I actually decided to buy a Ford Taurus after I had rented several. For the money there is no better car. A lot of features, smooth ride and sporty, yet family oriented looks. I have put a lot of miles on this car in a short time and have had absolutely no problems.I am very impressed with the amount of quality Ford put into this car for the price they sell at. The handling and response of the Taurus is outstanding. It has kept me out of several accidents.

  • Overall, A Great Car - 2003 Ford Taurus

I have had this car for 1 year with no problems. My only problem is that after only 1 year and 12,000 miles, the car is not worth anywhere near what I owe on it.

  • Very smooth ride - 2003 Ford Taurus

I was in the market for a reliable used car and I test drove several. The comfort and road handling features of my Taurus Wagon were hard to duplicate in other vehicles. I have put a lot of miles on the car and it has held up very well. Lots of room too.

I am very happy with this vehicle. It is very smooth and overall there have not been any problems with it. It feels much more solid than the older Tauruses.

  • Love my Ford - 2003 Ford Taurus

One year ago I was shopping for a car. I think I got a deal, and purchased an almost new, fully loaded 2003 Ford Taurus SEL Centennial Edition beauty with 7000 miles on it. Paid $14,000 plus $1500 premium extended warranty for 6 years or 75,000 miles. She was reliable. Love this car. I replaced factory tail lights with Altezza euro tail lights so she looks cool now. It still looks sharp on the roads you might see many copycats around, as Hondas, Lexus and Toyotas. They are not fast enough to copy Focus and Taurus. If you are looking for Taurus, Duratec engine is a must. You will enjoy good acceleration.

  • 2003 Taurus SES Sedan - 2003 Ford Taurus
    By -

I own a 2003 Taurus SES sedan. It is a great car..for two reasons..roomy and the price. I also LOVE the power for a 200 hp engine. I recommend this car for people who are on a budget and want the power.
