Overview & Reviews
Many changes are in store for the 2000 Taurus. Styling is the most obvious, with a new look for both the front and rear. Improved safety comes from a new airbag-deployment system, adjustable pedals, seatbelt pre-tensioners and child safety-seat anchors. The ride has been made more comfortable and the powertrain has been updated for more power and less noise. The V8-powered SHO has been dropped from the lineup.
- New styling, safety features, more power, good value for the money.

Starting Problems - 2000 Ford Taurus
By BigTuna - May 15 - 2:00 amI am very disapointed with this car. I bought it used. It had 28K miles and was a least car. The problem started after about 7 months. It was then out of warranty. The problem is, on occasion it will not start. But if you wait a while, 10 minutes to an hour it will start. Ive had it to machanics 4 times. One time to the dealer, and know one can find the problem. This is my 2nd Taurus. The 1st one was an 89 with a similar problem. Never another Taurus. I am about to trade it on a 20043 Camry.

Be ware before you purchase a Ford Car - 2000 Ford Taurus
By enb74 - March 17 - 2:00 amI bought this car for me and my wife in 2000. Though the ride and comfortable level is good the Fort Taurus numerous amount of problems is a killer. My NEW car had a leak in the steering pump, a leak in the ABS and ABS pump needed to be replaced. I had a leak on the interior passenger side. I send several letters to Ford Motor who never responded. I owned a Chevy before and I wanted to stay with Domestic cars, but at the level of service provided by Ford, I believe they lost another good costumer.

By swinslow - May 4 - 10:00 amHave had nothing but troubles with the fuel system since I bought it. Have been unable to resolve problems after about 10 service trips. Car stalls out constantly in hot weather.

Think Very Carefully Before You Buy! - 2000 Ford Taurus
By catskill - March 28 - 10:00 amGot a decent deal on the lease...leather, CD changer, etc. Car has decent highway ride and plenty of room. Mileage is only OK. Reliability has been good, with only a few fit-and- finish issues to speak of. The seats, on the other hand, are ABYSMAL. Neither my wife nor I can drive the car without leg pain, despite trying the full range of power seat arrangements. Also very difficult to get my toddler in and out of. I cant wait to give it back next July!
