Comfy but not reliable - 1992 Ford Taurus
By Kelly McDonal - May 4 - 1:31 pmAll in all i like this car. Its extremly comfertable but not very reliable. I just bought it nine months ago so obviously its old but sometimes i feel like its broken more then its running. On the plus side I enjoy driving it. I feel very safe in it and the visibility when driving is great.

500 dollars well invested - 1992 Ford Taurus
By DSCES - February 20 - 10:07 amWe bought the car used and for only $500 dollars. When you buy something for that price and at that age things will go wrong. We have had it for almost a year now and the car still starts and runs. We had to do two repairs on it but nothing to serious. 1st thing was a oil leak and second was a MAF sensor. Other then those two things it runs great. So I can trust my teens in this car to drive because its big and dependable

Fun 4 door with some power - 1992 Ford Taurus
By CordiaDOHC - October 26 - 11:57 pmI bought my 1992 Ford Taurus SHO from an older family that wanted to get something different for their daughter. The car needed an ignition module and a tuneup. Tuneups on these cars are definitely not as easy as a Mustang or Camaro. I got the car with 160k on it. Fixed the problems and man this thing moves out pretty good. I have driven it on 4 trips already. They rate this car at 26mpg highway. But I averaged 32mpg on a 220 mile trip. Not too bad. The previous owner had removed the exhaust resonator on it. Definitely made the exhaust very distinctive. Definitely been a fun car! And reliable!

I <3 my 92 Taurus GL Wagon! - 1992 Ford Taurus
By Ann M. - September 13 - 1:19 amI got a great deal on mine since my brother is a car salesman. I paid $1000 for it with only 63,000 miles on it! Although the a/c never worked I love this car. Built like a tank. The only problems I experienced were an radiator leak, electrical issues and a hole in the exhaust (regular wear). I had mechanic friends so repairs were cheap for me. I recently fell victim to 2 accidents in 2 months. Both times I was hit by senior men who shouldnt be driving. My car now has significant cosmetic damage and will cost more than its worth to fix so Im trading it in for a 94 Taurus GL sedan ::tear tear:: I would buy it again if given the opportunity!

somewhat decent value - 1992 Ford Taurus
By guy922 - January 2 - 2:00 amI purchased a 1992 Taurus GL in may 2003, and I havent really had any problems with it mechanically, which is a suprise, because it is nearing 150k but for those of us with bench seating in the front, I strongly reccommend a floor tray for beverages, because the drinks can overflow into your radio if you arent careful. And while I love the strong visual styling, it has a poor fit and finish, and while general cowl is low, the plastic rattles constantly, but i only paid $1000, so if it fails i wont feel like its a great loss.

Great Runner - 1992 Ford Taurus
By RKSKIB - December 23 - 2:00 amBought this car brand new in Jan 1992 and ran it for over 188,000. Just sold it (Dec 2003) to someone at work and car is still in great condition body and mechanically. Has the 3.0 liter v- 6 that is virtually indestructible as long as you maintain it. Original transmission finally went out at 160,000. Only minor rust on bottom of cars tailgate and it was used in the Chicago area the entire time. Only sold it because of great deal on new SUV. I will miss it, but it will give good use to new owners.

1992 Taurus wagon - 1992 Ford Taurus
By Edgar Latrek - September 20 - 2:00 amI have two of these SW from 1992. Both have leaking steering. One has a dead air conditioner. One has a failing transmission. The inadequate air conditioning will freeze you on a cool morning and leave you sweating by 11:00 am. The rear defroster connection wires on both cars failed. Both have barely adequate cooling systems. AC fogs windows exactly where you need to look to see the side mirrors.
