Not very high quaility - 1993 Ford Ranger
By Mark Crosier - July 17 - 2:00 amTruck needs a lower 1st gear.At about 100,000 miles, everything started breaking, power windows, door locks, overheating problems etc.I have been a mechanic for 20 years and have done way more maintance than the average consumer. Also from day one the plastic interior started falling apart.

Going Strong - 1993 Ford Ranger
By Steve B - July 12 - 2:00 amI bought this truck new in 1993. I have had another vehicle most of the past 10 years, so the mileage isnt too high (80K). Other than the leaks others have written about, no major problems or unplanned expenses. Exterior has held up well. Interior fabrics, carpet, and trim have held up very well. It is relegated to being a hauler & airport parker (to keep my "good" car safe at home), but Im planning to keep it another 10 years.

Great Truck!!! - 1993 Ford Ranger
By Adam C - May 29 - 2:00 amThis has been a great truck! Honestly, I havent taken care of it like I should have & it needs a little tranny work but it still runs great! Its got 192,000 miles with the original tranny, front & rear ends, & brake calipers. It has great brakes & the manual transmission makes it a blast to drive. Ive been in newer ones and prefer my 93. Its just comfortable & fun to drive.

On its last legs? - 1993 Ford Ranger
By jasonelki - May 13 - 2:00 amMy ranger had 55,000 miles when I bought it in 1997, today it has 183,000. Other than the usual maintanance of brakes, tires, etc, havent had many problems, except one. At 100,000 miles I replaced the leaky slave cylinder and put in a new clutch. At 150,000 the slave started leaking again, but this time I had the dealership fix it, which set me back about $700. Now, with 183,000, I will be letting her go soon. I have the 4.0 V6 with the 5-speed. This truck still has tons of snap, doesnt leak a drop of any fluid and ranges from 20 to 22mpg.

ok, but sluggish - 1993 Ford Ranger
By jenshjelm - March 17 - 2:00 ami like to drive my truck, but it is a lil sluggish with its underpowered v6 and 4x4 that doesnt help since there is no axle lock(posi lock) of any kind. also gas mileage isnt what i expected when i bought it.

Loves the abuse - 1993 Ford Ranger
By chacharelli - February 18 - 2:00 amMy Ranger has the 4.0L V6 and 5 speed manual. Purchased when I was in high school in 1997 with 55,000 miles. It was my first vehicle, so of course it was abused early in our relationship. Now, with 120,000 miles - it just wont quit. Still gets 21+ mpg highway, and the torquey engine has not faded. Replaced the clutch at 85,000 but that was the only major repair. Reliability is almost unbelievable.

1993 Ford Ranger XLT Standard Cab SB - 1993 Ford Ranger
By RobWilkins - February 11 - 2:00 amExcellent, reliable vehicle! I bought it in 1999 with 72,000 miles. It is now 2003 and the truck has over 106,000 and is still running strong. I have had no problems at all with the engine. The only two items Ive had to replace are the sending unit and the exhaust system. I am very good about changing the oil & filter every 2500-3000 miles and the gas & air filter every 10,000 miles, and the plugs & wires every 20,000-25,000 miles... I guess it pays off! I love this truck!!!

250,000+ miles - 1993 Ford Ranger
By jacksoneagle - December 12 - 2:00 amI think this is the Ranger model I had. It was a standard Ranger with a 5 speed transmission. I drove the hell out of this truck and would still have it but I it was declared a "total" after a wreck. This Ranger was ordered with a long bed from the factory. I got ownership at about 80,000 miles. My ranger was a delivery vehicle twice, so it took a ton of abuse. I only had typical repairs such as fuel pumps, batteries, alternators, fuel filters, and so forth. Nothing major. The clutch was about to go out, but what did I expect after such abuse. I had the 3.0 V-6 and it was peppy without sucking down the fuel.
