All 2004 Ford Rangers get a more aggressive raised hood and a partitioned grille that more closely matches that of other Ford trucks. Inside, seats have been revised to improve comfort, and leather upholstery is a new option. A new leather-wrapped, four-spoke steering wheel is available on some models, as is a floor console. New white-faced gauges are standard on all models, except the base XL. The Tremor model's 510-watt stereo now has MP3 capability, and other models are eligible for a 290-watt Pioneer Sound package with an in-dash CD/MP3 player. Additionally, the Tremor is available with four-wheel drive this year, and the off-road-ready FX4 gets an electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case. Sixteen-inch aluminum wheels are optional on two-wheel-drive Edge models, and an engine block heater is standard in select states.

By agumby1 - January 26 - 2:00 amFun to drive. Has looks. Its everything the Pissan Nissan Frontier wasnt. Doesnt tilt over onto bump-stops when going thru corners. Been having fun with it so far. Toreador red looks great. Been told its like Candy-apple red. Get the gascap on TIGHT.

I origiannly bought it because I bought a townhouse and Knew Id need a truck to move stuff around. I love it...I use it for any trip to home depot or something if the like. It rides just as good as any small car I have owned and although the fuel economy stinks...its a truck so I expected that. Plus I just feel safder in this truck than in a car. I driv on alot so it a possibility. Its a fun truck and sporty looking. It feels like being in the front part of a ford explorer but you only pay half the price---

Very Good Small Truck - 2004 Ford Ranger

Since there are a billion of them parts are cheap and plentiful. My only recommendation is that if you get the super cab, you want to get the 4.0 liter V6. The 3 liter is a little small for that big of a truck. And the mileage difference is not that great.

By Mark Steven - March 19 - 2:00 amSince 92, I have owned 3 ranger 4x4s. A 92,98 and 2004. I wish I had my 98 back. I had 2drs and bought a 4 dr, thinking my 5 yr old daughter would like it better, WRONG! Its noisy, on the highway and the engine makes more noise than the 98 4.0/v6. I see short cuts, like mud flaps, no skirting in wheel wells, high back buckets that are comfortable but lots of blind spots. I rate the 04 at a 2 because I think Ford was more interested in the F-150 and caturing the market with that model, thus leaving the best selling small p/u out of the picture for 2004.

Sweet Truck - 2004 Ford Ranger

The one thing that you should be aware of is the fuel economy in the winter months. I am currently averaging about 10 miles per gallon, which was not expected when I purchased the truck. The summer months and warmer times makes the economy average around 16-17 miles per gallon. Overall the truck is a great buy and I am very pleased..... The truck must be reliable....there is some reason that you cant go a mile down the road and not see one of them.

By johnr2b - December 24 - 2:00 amthe Electrical Plug for the Trailer Hitch should be a place you can easly see, Second, The external sound could be damped in the doors a little more. Other than that the truck is a sweet runing, great handling and lots of fun to be in any time of Truck.
