Overview & Reviews
All 2004 Ford Rangers get a more aggressive raised hood and a partitioned grille that more closely matches that of other Ford trucks. Inside, seats have been revised to improve comfort, and leather upholstery is a new option. A new leather-wrapped, four-spoke steering wheel is available on some models, as is a floor console. New white-faced gauges are standard on all models, except the base XL. The Tremor model's 510-watt stereo now has MP3 capability, and other models are eligible for a 290-watt Pioneer Sound package with an in-dash CD/MP3 player. Additionally, the Tremor is available with four-wheel drive this year, and the off-road-ready FX4 gets an electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case. Sixteen-inch aluminum wheels are optional on two-wheel-drive Edge models, and an engine block heater is standard in select states.
- Strong 4.0-liter V6 engine, multiple trim levels and options, functional interior.
- Dated platform, weak base engines, no crew cab configuration.

My Truck - 2004 Ford Ranger
By AKemp - February 22 - 2:00 amI just recently purchased a used 2002 Ford Ranger EDGE supercab 4 Door. The truck has 4x4 and handles perfect in the snow. I would recommend this truck to anyone.

Ford Ranger "EDGE" 4Dr 4.0Litre - 2004 Ford Ranger
By MAugustein - February 15 - 2:00 amBeing a highly intelligent and conscience buyer, I did massive amount of research both on the net, locally, dealerships, and friends. I kept a very open mind a ALL compact trucks, and nothing could beat the Randger EDGE 4Dr, 4.0 Litre, 4x4! Its simply the best "Bang-for-your-buck"! Comparing it to a Toyota Tacoma with similar features.....expect to pay a few thousand dollors more!

Economy that works - 2004 Ford Ranger
By fireball - February 11 - 2:00 amThe acquisition cost at the end of the season sold me on the Ford Ranger. Incentives and discounts comprised 25% of the acquisition. Thus a new vehicle and warranty for the price of a used vehicle. The vehicle has a solid feel and good road manners. Handles corners well. Economy is what it is for a truck but performance of the little v-6 is better than the test on a 4 cylinder. I have friends who have close to 200.k on thier truck. that also sold me on the Ranger.

4 x 4 Supercab Ranger - 2004 Ford Ranger
By Original Bigfoot - February 5 - 2:00 amHad a love/hate thing for Ford products but Im up to 6,000 miles in all kinds of weather and road conditions and I love this truck. Put on 3,00 miles the first 2 weeks. Gas mileage needs improvement but its a 4.0 with the 5 speed auto and it does have a lot of power. Its quiet inside under all conditions and speeds, rides firm, handles well, stops great with standard ABS, and love that power from a V6. Cant beat it at price when you compare drive train, brakes, and package options. No problems, body fit and paint is great, mechanicals are perfect. Its the best buy!

Solid truck, American Glitches Remain - 2004 Ford Ranger
By Hands - January 30 - 2:00 amThis truck is still new to me, but I have a strong sense of it already. Its solid, comfortable and powerful, but the build quality is American all the way. I have already had it in the shop for a mis-aligned door and a malfunctioning wiper switch. I have owned a number of imports (Japanese and Korean) and have never had to return them to the dealer the first week. It seems I have had to return every american vehicle I have owned for some type of repair/adjustment. Speaks poorly of American workmanship, Im sorry to say.
