The 1995 Ford Probe is a very reliable vehicle. Other than the regular maintainence, weve had to invest very little additional money to keep it running well. The only problem with the vehicle is that it seems to wear through tires quicker than most other cars.

  • Best Car Fords Made! - 1993 Ford Probe

I do not understand when I hear people say bad things about the Probe. I have had my 93 Probe GT for ten years and it has been the most amazing car. I have had no major mechanical issues and have only had to spend money on typical maintenance issues. This car is RELIABLE! I have had lots of fun upgrading intake/exhaust and taking her out on the open road. This is a great car and if you can get your hands on one that has been taken care of, buy it! I have often thought that I will never sell my Probe. It is one of the best cars on the road and its styling is timeless.

106,000 mainly trouble free miles. Still on the orginal clutch. Usual Probe maintenance issues - Oxygen sensors, ABS sensors, wiring harness, water pump, factory CD. Expensive to repair ($500 for an ABS wheel sensor?). Mazda mechanicals make this a reliable car that has been fun to drive over the past eight years.

  • A great car. - 1996 Ford Probe

I bought my GT four years ago, and now must part strictly because of cargo space. Its a very peppy car with great handling and an amazing stereo system. My car has a factory sub which adds really nice low end. The Factory CD played is/was terrible, it eventually had to be put out to pasture. Beyond normal maintance, my water pump cracked (a pricey fix-up) And both CV joint cases had to be replaced (possibly my fault). Watch the alignment if not youll go through tires pretty quickly. This was certainly my favorite car so far.

  • Never EVER Again - 1993 Ford Probe

Never again will I buy a probe. In just a year of owning this car, Ive had to replace both CV joints (one more than once), replace the whole radiator, replace the distribitor, replaced the front brake pads a few times, the rotors once, repair on the head gaskets, and replace the timing belt. Right now, the transmission is almost completely gone and I have a blown water hose. When it rains, it pours with this vehicle. Price for repair is outrageous. Thank goodness they dont make this cars anymore!!

  • Worst Car ever - 1993 Ford Probe

This was a really fun car to drive when it worked. The expen$$$$ive repair costs and the dual build of the cars (ford,Mazda)may be the problem. Engine repairs and normal fixs are outrageous. Definatly do not recommend!

Ive had this car for 10 years and never have been stranded or needed to make repairs on the road. Currently, I use it for a commuting and with some tweaking and care Im able to get 34 mpg.

The style is great. W/the seats down, you can fit a full size bed in the car. It looks sporty, so you feel proud to drive it. Only problem is the check engine light comes on after 40K miles. After having it checked out and finding nothing is wrong, we have to disconnect the battery to reset the lamp.

  • I LOVED this car - 1994 Ford Probe

Recently retired my 94 Probe GT. I bought it in spring of 95 and put over 100,000 miles on it in 8 years. Almost scary acceleration, when properly tuned (with the 5 speed manual). Insane handling abilities. Ive only had a few major repairs, but they were all VERY expensive. After 8 years, the amount of parts that needed replacement simply made it impractical to keep driving. I needed a new clutch (115000+ miles on the original isnt shabby tho), new drive axle, new brakes, new moonroof, etc.

  • BEST CAR EVER OWNED (unlike grand prix) - 1993 Ford Probe
    By -

I own a 93gt and it had a little over 100k on it. It has had its regular oil change and all, but besides that I havent invested a dime into it. I used to own a 2000 Grand prix gt in silver with horrible paint job. Down here its quite disturbing to have to see your cars paint chip off. I guess quality matters. Probes interior and the 5 speed tranny are a tremendous change and a upgrade from lame 200hp in a 3.8 GM engine. One thing I think Ford/Mazda should have improved was the fact that it doesnt provide you with cheap aftermarket(after warranty) parts. But, sofar I havent had to use my warranty.
