Perfect first car - 1993 Ford Probe
By Desert93pgt - August 11 - 2:00 amThis was my first car, and i dont think i could have gotten a better first car. I am moving on as i want more power. For someone who wants light mods or to stay stock this is a perfect car, good power, crisp and great handling. ON a track this car holds its own against higher end cars well out of its pricerange.

Love It -- but its turning into a money - 1996 Ford Probe
By cathmary - July 30 - 2:00 amI bought this car with 20K, now have 75K on it. Love driving it, but have had numerous problems: In the first year, the CD player, and the hydraulics for the hatchback/trunk door went out. The radiator had to be replaced. Seatbelt buckles for both front seats had to be replaced. The EEC relay board and a battery cable cover just got replaced today ($350 plus towing). Without the EEC thing, the car wont even start. Im postponing $1500 worth of emissions parts (oxygen sensors, etc.) Cover panels around passenger feet keep falling off. Parts are VERY EXPENSIVE + HARD TO FIND! Now just want to get running and sell it, alas!

1993 4 banger - 1993 Ford Probe
By Jmiller - July 28 - 2:00 amI brought my PROBE used with 60/k in 1997. Red of course, when cleaned it always looked brand new. I now have almost 170/k miles on it. Very reliable, problem areas idle control, faded paint, expensive parts and high insurance. Still has the original clutch!!! Great gas mileage and fun to drive, could use more power. Hatch is very useful. From day one I used only synthetic or semi syn. oil. The engine still sounds brand new, plenty of life left. K&N air filter and spit fire plugs....will change to BOSCH platinum 4 plugs. I used either 93 or 89 octane....she runs strong on 93.

great car - 1990 Ford Probe
By Tleah - July 22 - 2:00 amI call it my energizer bunny. Except for NY state rust it is doing very well. When bought a lot of money had to be put into it because of the winters and other non care of it but since then it has done wonders for me. I do not have a lot of money and I keep this car going on a shoestring budget. I would get another one.

This car has been a gem - 1992 Ford Probe
By Reignman35 - July 11 - 2:00 amI purchased my 92 Probe with 92,000 miles on it from my grandfather in the spring of 2002, and so far the car has been a dream. I currently have 138,000 on it, and it still starts right up (the fact that it has a Mazda powerplant probably makes a difference) no matter the weather or conditions. The clear coat is peeling from sitting in the sun for so long, but who cares when the engine is all that makes a difference. Aside from a little exhaust work that needed done after I first bought it and I had to replace the clutch slave cylinder last fall, I have no complaints about the car.

Best 1st car - 1997 Ford Probe
By jordabirka - July 8 - 2:00 amI got this car for may 16th birthday and love it! I have ALWAYS loved the Probes and now I have one! This is a great first car for a first time driver. Its got enough power with the V6 (GT) to get you out of the way if need be.

Wonderful car! - 1993 Ford Probe
By Probe_luv - June 30 - 2:00 amLove this car! Even though the idle control has been bad for a year, I drive it everywhere and love it. 169000 miles and still going. And easy to fix, if you can find the parts. It does what I need it to do and I can fit my golf clubs in the trunk.

Looks nice but doesnt work nice - 1992 Ford Probe
By TDH - June 25 - 2:00 amAfter only owning my 92 Probe for one year, Ive had to fix or replace front brakes, tie rods, struts, strut plates, air conditioning fan, $2 headlight relay (after $100 of diagnostics), e- brake cable, CV axles, not to mention a transmission flush. Ford no longer makes any Probe parts, the Probe was shelved around 96, so all parts either have to be special ordered or from a junkyard. This was a problem because when my trailer arm was snapped (friends fault), I had to find my own replacement, and the best one I could find threw me out of alignment. AVOID THIS CAR! UNRELIABLE! I also suggest avoiding older models, as they are plagued with the same problems.
