This Year's Model Updates:

Heavily updated is the 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra, which makes 390 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque thanks to the addition of an Eaton supercharger. A new six-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels through a 3.55 rear axle ratio. Larger wheels and tires come standard, along with stiffer springs and a tubular cross brace. Cobra convertibles have a cloth top, while both cars get new seats with upgraded leather and suede upholstery. A limited-production Mach 1 model arrives later in the year with a massaged 4.6-liter V8 engine making at least 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, a functional shaker hood with ram-air scoop, black striping, unique leather seating and retro-design Magnum 500 alloy wheels, and, of course, a Mach 460 audio system. Mach 1 can be ordered in a variety of colors with either a manual or automatic transmission. Like the Mustang Bullitt before it, the Mach 1 comes with a lowered, retuned suspension and additional frame rail connectors for a stiffer body. Large 13-inch Brembo front rotors and upgraded calipers are standard.

Standard V6 and V8 GT models change little for 2003. A V6 Pony Package includes 16-inch polished alloy wheels and the GT's scooped hood. All V6 models get a new hood design, and four new colors debut.

Pros:
  • Available V8 power, variety of trim levels, healthy dose of American attitude.
Cons:
  • Archaic structure, aged design.

I love this car. It is very fun to drive and it is very stylish. All of my friends love my car. It is very reliable and I have never had any trouble with it. It never leaks because of the top and the top comes down very quick.

This is a super beast. Almost 400 horses roaring to be let loose underneath your foot and when you let them go they are sprinting! Superchargers are always great. I bought this car in the color grey and it reminds me of the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds". My idea of driving is "Drive like you stole it" and I love that line and its my motto. This car certainly fufiles that motto for me and more.

Since wanting a GT since I was a kid.. This is everything I wanted.. The seats fit like a glove and everything fits my size perfectly.. Red lights are great.. The open highway is even better... Plenty of power to enjoy.

I do all my own maintenance, how ever I did get an after market vehicle coverage plan. I can not determine what the oil change schedule is if you only drive your car 6,000 miles a year. Love the car, but not sure if I will keep the coverage plan. I replaced the Trans and rear, trunk lid w/ spoiler, tail lights, radio, rotors, brakes, wheel inserts and some small items. this vehicle was a repo and the last owner stripped and sold some parts. Still looking for a recommended maint schedule for cars over 130,000 miles, driven at 6,000 miles per year. [contact info removed].

Best bang for your buck. Faster than 90% of stock street cars. Fastest street car under $50000. Recommend anyone looking for a great sports car then this is the one.

  • Awesome Car! - 2003 Ford Mustang

Im biased because Im a Mustang lover. For all those people disliking the comfort, interior design, and fuel mileage go buy an import. This is not an issue for the real men who drive Mustangs. The interior design is a bit bland but to be honest it doesnt matter with me. This car is so underestimated out there in the high hp car world. Probably because now its kinda rare since they were only produced for 2 years. Best car Ive ever owned.

  • Too much fun - 2003 Ford Mustang

I had always wanted a GT, so when they were running some rebates I went for it. No regrets since. The only problem Ive had with it is a nut coming loose on one of the top drive cylinders which I was able to fix myself. I cant get enough of the power and sound even in stock form. After leaving it with my Dad for a year while I was overseas, I wasnt out of the driveway before I said to myself, "This is a fast car!" I also think its better looking than the new one, but thats just me. Its no wonder Chevy couldnt sell Camaros, the Mustang is just about perfect. No frills, just fun.

The ford mustang is my first car and i needed to have it because i was brought up with one. My mom had an 82 mustang, it lasted 17 years before it bit the big one. The GT mustang is great. I only have one problem, i think that the interior design could be a little better. But otherwise its the best car i have ever seen and i love cars. You should really get one, there great.
